Just thinking about the champ for away days next year:

Watford, boro and Norwich up.

Blackpool, Wigan and Millwall down.

Bristol, Preston and Sheff Utd up from League 1.

Burnley, Villa and probably Hull down from the prem.

Hull to come down as I haven't been there, Burnley cause I f**king hate them, Preston to go up because again I haven't been there, would like Millwall to stay up because it's Millwall.

Same re Hull and Millwall

Plus from mid-August to mid-May, there are 41 Saturdays.

Take 2 off for FA Cup 3rd & 4th rounds leaves 39.

Play an extra game at Christmas and one Easter leaves you with 41 again.

Play a midweek game in August (non-League Cup week obvs) October half-term, February half-term and May Day Bank Holiday leaves just one other midweek game to shoehorn in.

It isn't necessary to play 10 midweek games.

Scrap international breaks for non-Premier League clubs.

PS that's off the top of my head, there's bound to be holes in it, but its a starting point

I just feel with the likes of Ipswich or Cardiff it might be 300 midweek vs 600 on a Saturday but Blackburn/Burnley midweek is 2000 vs 4000 on a weekend.

Unless we're doing really well when our numbers would increase similarity to how Derby's have in my opinion.

Edit: completely agree on scrapping international break outside of the prem.

The thing about playing local games in midweek is that if you want to go you can.

Most working folk or those with kids can't do Cardiff/Norwich etc on a Tuesday without fucking Wednesday up.

I'd love to be able to take my youngest to new grounds, but when they're 5 hours away on a school night, it's not happening.

It's not exactly conducive to a great atmosphere though going straight from work to a derby game, having a beef tea then rushing home as you've got work in the morning.

I was thinking of people wanting to watch the match, though.

Not going out for a social meet,

Scrap international friendlies as well. If every country just played qualifiers, no one would have an advantage.
