Don't think he has realised much of his

anticipated potential whether that's been down to mismanagement or his own attitude I don't know maybe a bit of both .Time will tell.

now i like vela, i think he has great ability.

but i can see why lennon didnt pick him early in the season because i dont see his attitude to the situation as great.

maybe i'm misreading his body language but he gives up far to easily for me and loses his head now and again.

in terms of pure ability, he reminds me of hierro. looks to have time on the ball and plays with his head up.

I like that he loses his head sometimes.

We've lacked someone who will just put the opposition on the deck for a long long time. Admittedly it's a bit crude half the time and he usually gets booked, but the lack of getting stuck in and getting the crowd up and at em has been huge the last few years.

Not like them to pray on us when we are at our lowest and get things on the cheap is it?

Vermin

Bet he's a Munich

That said, do we really need to own our own car parks?

Have I really just read a comparison of Vela to Hierro??? ????????????????

No arsed about Vela really. What concerns me is that carthorse Trotter playing in his place. Bad times.

Unfortunately yes. I'm also in shock.

I like trotter. Deserves his chance

But what about him masquerading as a footballer

But what about him masquerading as a footballer

I'd seriously give him a go tonight perhaps next to spearing

I like trotter. Deserves his chance

Our midfield severely lacks pace and mobility without Trotter in it...

Ha ha ..Pratley's hardly speedy gonzalis is he ?

Have I really just read a comparison of Vela to Hierro???

its not a comparison. its a style...

I like trotter. Deserves his chance

Has trotter been gone for long enough for him to become good?

The Riley effect.

Have I really just read a comparison of Vela to Hierro???

2 club legends who will be remembered after they have gone for contributing a lot more than they actually did.

Mavies is the new Jay Jay.

I'd not bat an eyelid

I just don't get him

This is where I'm at. Vela isn't the messiah everyone makes him out to be, and I don't mind losing him.

Regarding ZC, it's sad to see a boyhood fan of the club leaving when he doesn't want to, but if it keeps the club alive then it's REQUIRED. Also, we don't really need flair players to get us out of this predicament, we need some fighters. Davies, I'll be sad to see him leave. His wages are way too high for us though, and I'd like to see him offer to cut them to stay (never going to happen, but we can all dream, right?).

The reason JV and ZC are on their way is because they actually have a transfer value, and we need some cash to pay the bills. If it was all down to wages, they wouldn't be anywhere near the top of the list of people we need to get rid of. I can't think of any other player in our squad who would command a decent transfer fee.

We need goals, and ZC is the only player who looks remotely capable of providing them.

Completely agree though, if he needs to be sold to keep us alive, then he should be sold.

fuck me, folk are simple...

The Clough situation is difficult. IF his sale somehow guaranteed our survival and removed all debt then fair enough. But 2million is going to help for a month or two, then we're still fooked with an even poorer squad. Moreover it wouldn't surprise me if brizzle pull out.

FWIW I'm beginning to think this might be the club forcing the hand of interested parties, accept bids because we have to, pushing them to complete asap if they want the few young talents we have still available to help their rebuilding plans

Something obviously in pipeline if ED had vetoed the Vela deal and ZC has not left the club. Has Eddie come out of a coma?

I'm inclined to agree with your last paragraph.

Be interesting to see if Clough and Vela get a 'hamstring or similar' tonight, which suddenly gets better after the 18th

He'll be progressing a few different plans at the same time.

perhaps someone has brought some cash to the table

perhaps someone has brought some cash to the table

That'd be superb let's hope and pray.

how do we know ED had vetoed the Vela deal?
