Funnily enough, and I might be in the minority, but if his decision to stay cost us cash that sent us to oblivion, then I'd not bother one bit. It's not his fault the clubs fooked and anyone remotely demonizing him in such a situation should seriously look at themselves. The kid wants to stay, and perhaps should be applauded by all parties for not going somewhere just for cash and risking not playing to his ability at Bristol.

As for Davies, you're right, he's done what's best for him too. The difference is he's a senior player on premiere wages, massively underperforming here and maybe given the fact nobody seems to want to match his wages, he should look at himself and pull his finger out.

Agree with this, in my warp and twisted mind it's 2 fingers up to ED if he wants to raise the money sell something else off, shame it can't be his academy as he's already pawned it of to BW, might have to open his Bermuda trust bank account if he can't sell off the silver, what a shame.

its not harsh

i like the kid

if we go under for the fee we've just lost out on, do we still bless him?

at least we've got rid of mark davies - the cunt - wages

maybe im missing something

tell me?

if we fold in the next month - which we wont - zach clough will walk into plenty clubs

However people spin it Clough is at least showing some level of connection to the club. In a time when most footballers are so distant from the club it is heartening. Watch the video of the Villa players gettin the bus, yes the guy shouting is a prick but the players are just laughing at him.

None of our players should be in a position where missing a couple of months money means their kids go hungry, yes Zac will still be a footballer this time next year, but just for now he has shown that not footballers just follow and do as expected.

fcuking hell, i'm having this clear

i like zach clough

selfishly, im glad hes stayed as he might be our best bet of staying up on the pitch - not sure lennon knows what to do with him, mind

but im fcuked if im going to be overcome by his so called loyalty

1 it might be 2 million and 8k a week we need rid of and 2, youd not have seen him for dust if it was city

Must admit that is the harsh reality. But I do admit to sharing the same immediate positive, heartwarming, faith-fueled response my 2 lads gave when I shared the news that Clogh had turned down the move. We all immediately believed (and perhaps they still do) that he wants to stay at Bolton.... Well he does for the time being.....

We know all that, but the fact is he's chosen to stay with us, a club on its fucking arse on and off the pitch.

Loyalty? Self interest?

Honestly I don't give a fuck what it is. It's a wee bit of good news in an otherwise absolutely shit couple of seasons.

Just enjoy it for a little bit before he inevitably fucks off somewhere else

We certainly needed shut of him on those wages. Dear me no wonder we are in the shit. No use blaming Mark Davies or Sheffield Wendy either. Well as someone else said, trimming the fat but the player/agent certainly haven't had to compromise. Onwards and upwards

Mavies will be incredibly well off for a player who has played so little football. To waive whatever severance entitlement he had would not have seen him homeless.

To do so would have made him a thourghly decent bloke, not to do do makes him a typical out of touch arrogant footballer. Fuck him I hope his career is blighted by injury and he continues to fail to fulfill his potential as he had done for years. A high % of footballers end up in financial crisis after they stop playing let's see how he is doing in 10 years time.

Didn't he up sticks from wolves a club who nurtured him to come to Bolton no loyalty then and non know. I want this mess sorting ASAP so that we can keep our home grown lads and use them as a springboard back up the league. I'm hoping our young lads can do an 1970s revisited when Sam, Reidy, Paul Jones and whatmore with 1 or 2 old heads got us back in the big time.
