Thanks for banging on about it. We're all eternally grateful for your insight

  • I like how they have voted Chris Powell as their first choice.   Not many clubs can say they have had two black managers in a row.

I'd only give a contract to new manager for maximum of 6 months .

Give whoever it is a zero hours contract

I think that's what the current squad are already on, based on the shifts they've been putting in.

Off topic but megson wasn't hated when he arrived. Don't buy into his PR crap

Those Ginger Mourinho chants never happened though

The truth is somewhere between the two.

He certainly got the worst welcome I've seen a new manager get at our club.

I'd love to know how many of the twats who formed a reception committee with "Megson Out" banners will be there in League One? My guess is they've fucked off back to supporting Chelsea or Man City.

I bet your right twats fuck em

Would we rather have a stadium full of non supporters or a half empty stadium full of 'proper fans'?

It's like we have a cup match and a group of young lads turn up cause it's cheap and one of them turns out to be a Man U fan and someone always kicks up a fuss.

Or maybe they've gone watching Athy Colls?

I just want someone with a shitload of experience.

No young and up and coming manager please

Or maybe they've gone watching Athy Colls?

Miaow. 40 years not out me.

:D

Was hoping for a chomp then n all

Nothing in this article shows that Megson was hated when he arrived

It illustrates that he wasn't a popular choice before he was appointed

Big difference

not really, he wasn't popular from the off  - he got booed when he was unveiled at Braga by the grey marl joggers brigade

there might be a difference between hate and contempt, but it was there from the beginning and you could see why he might have considered himself disliked from the start, it just grew in number over time

The way he states he was "hated" takes the assumed position that that was a universal feeling towards him from the supporter base, whereas in fact it was very much the minority from the get go.

Most backed him until he gave reason not to.

He decided to concentrate on the vocal minority. That was his choice

Like the majority I wasn't overly impressed with his appointment, but willing to give him a chance.

His performance and attitude change all that. The spitting image puppet skinned fuck stick.

I think the vast majority were prepared to give him a chance.

Just a pity the miserable fecker ain't a bloke you can warm to. That's what did for him.

That and being shit

If Gary Neville gets the job, I'm fucking through with that place.

I mean it. Football can fuck off forever.

No. Absofuckinglutely fucking twatting not.

I'm the only one of our group definitely renewing, but if they bring in the Cabbage Patch kids in I'm absofuckinglutely fucking twatting not either.

He signed Rasiak

He shouldnt be allowed to work in football again

Out of 699 readers who responded to a poll about who they wanted as the next manager, Megson attracted just 12 votes. More than half the fans who took part sent out a message that they did not want any of the candidates on the list, which included the names of Souness and Chris Coleman, by voting for AN Other.

Tony Pearson, chairman of the Bolton Wanderers Supporters' Association, said that Megson needed to win over the fans quickly.

"I don't know whether he has got the kind of profile we were hoping a manager would have," Pearson said. "I think I personally would have been a bit more excited about Paul Jewell.

He left Leicester to come to us didn't he? I bet they're gutted.....

He was also interviewed same time as Big Sam and came across better but thankfully they went with Sam, was told that by the press officer there at the time, so I'm guessing Gartside and co just went for the easy option when he got the job to avoid having to ask anymore difficult questions

I hope the Leeds fan director her is winding me up but he's just said he's heard rumours Steve Evans. Fuck that!
