As is the trend these days, the 'far right' are the baddies. Yes and they are rightly demonised. For balance however, let's see some shows which highlight the sinister intent of the extreme left or the anarchists. Maybe some more depicting the excesses of Islamic extremists in the UK? We all know that none of these would fit the current brief. Back to this show, how many right wing nutjobs over there have actually kidnapped a British Asian and set up a link to stream a beheading of one? Other than the predictable storyline so prevalent in recent shows, it shows promise and Gary Oldman is brilliant as the grubby boss. Also watched the first two episodes of Halo which the sci fi geeks will probably like. Nice to see Ziggy's older brother from series 2 of The Wire playing a lead part. Again, better than recent sci fi type series' I have seen on the evidence so far. Edited April 3, 2022 by bolty58 Quote

Smiley Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 First episode of the Saville 2-parter on Netflix. Wow. You forget how massive he was. What he did for charity. How influential he was. Rubbing shoulders with PMs and royalty. And not forgetting he’d worked down the pit, been a wrestler and worked 2 days when off-air as a hospital porter. Episode 2 is seriously going to flip it all on its head. Good watch. (Can’t fault him for making passes at Selina Scott - she was proper fit!) Quote

Watched it all last night I'd describe his hospital porter gig as a busman's holiday The letters from Prince Charles are something else, his influence went right to the very top! Quote

Youri McAnespie Posted April 7, 2022 Posted April 7, 2022 (edited) Steph's Packed Lunch, another smogmonster gabbing with her, her off Dragon's Den - it should be subtitled, they make Gazza sound like Rees-Mogg. No mention of 'parmos', yet... Why do I have utter crap on for background noise? I dunno. Edited April 7, 2022 by Youri McAnespie Quote
Youri McAnespie Posted April 7, 2022 Posted April 7, 2022 Louis Theroux found viagra, condoms and booze when rooting around Savile's lair, even though Savile claimed to be teetotal. He had a mate who he openly referred to as 'Mick the Pills' - presumably the source of his viagra. Clueless Louis didn't twig. Quote

He abbreviated it to 'the Dutch' he had her clobber dry cleaned every month, probably to eliminate DNA and jizz. He lived with the Dutch (his mam not folk from Holland) well into his fifties when she pegged it - he had a caravan a mile or so away to do his noncing in. I reckon he bummed her. Think that answers MickyD's question he bummed her to death then did a Nielsen/Dahmer with her then stuck in the bath after five days to wash his spunk out then rang 999 and claimed he'd been in his campervan at BBC Television Centre doing Top of The Pops and found her in the bath dead when he went home. Neil Kinnock fell over on beach. John Smith pegged it. Ed Miliband ate a bacon butty awkwardly. Gordon Brown sold a big whisky bottle filled with pound coins. This caused a worldwide recession. Jezza Corbyn wore a Mao hat and likes Grime. Useless. Edited April 7, 2022 by Youri McAnespie Quote
