Always amazes me to see the architecture, the flags, simply everything with the Nazi symbolism. Must have been an amazing sight in the day, the rallies particularly

Have to say though the whiff of lavender seeps through. The uniforms, even of the paramilitary types, have a tad of bumchuffery about them, with a style and grooming that gaysters would be proud about. Superb styling!!

Fascinating story. Should be essential viewing for young uns as a warning about what can happen if all of the power is given to one individual (or even a small number of individuals). Look at North Korea these days. Those cunts with a nuclear weapon is a frightening thought - similarly Iran. Putin likely another megalomaniac.

The fascinating part for me is the oratory skills and mesmeric ability to carry the masses, including some who would have been labelled highly intelligent, down a murderous and destructive road. There have been plenty of these types over the years but few who have caused such a vast level of utter carnage.

The focus needs to be on what came before and therefore created the perfect melting pot for a madman to dupe the masses. France has a lot to answer for. The reparations for WW1 were for too swingeing resulting in over a decade of starvation and general misery for the overall German population which is why there was such a willingness by the general German population to be enthralled by a charismatic leader who said that he would change their lot dramatically - which he did. For a while they lived very well overall but the inevitable demise and descent into nihilism was always going to be the case.

Wouldn't surprise me these days if Antifa wankers and the like wouldn't want the story to be told. They'd be more worried about someone being enamoured with the regalia and the like rather than folk learning about how this path leads only to one place. Destruction.

Have to admit that I don’t know what the young Hitler was like and that his name wasn’t even Hitler. But like you say his oratory skills and rabble rousing were something else

Interesting point about the reparations. Definitely a massive factor 

@bolty58 is spot on about the reparations. Clearly left a bad taste and an impossible bill to pay. Especially as ww1 was pretty much a pointless war with no real baddie and was essentially an arms race between GB and Germany.

That said the cunts were unforgivable in their weird policies and mind sets for Germany and beyond.

Hitler was clearly a great rabble rouser. I think that was his only/main skill. He failed in most things in life, his art, being a decent human, his ideologies and showed numerous times he was a poor tactician as opposed to a good one.

Clearly had a odd start with a strange father who liked giving him a kicking in Austria a lot. Let’s be honest though he probably deserved it for being a twat.

Yeah really enjoying this series so far, few playing up to the cameras but can tell there's some good kids there who've not had the best chances in life so far

This Corridors Of Power series on BBC4 about American foreign policy in the 90s is superb as well. Grim and graphic as fuck, but really interesting.

Aye but I do remember thinking the last couple of episodes made for an interesting story, enough to see where it goes next 

But am going to have to find a recap somewhere as I can't remember what actually happened

Just finished Merseyside detectives, a good watch, similar to 24hrs in police custody. How anybody gets away with murder nowadays is beyond me.

Main gist was that, at the end of series 1, Sauron was heading to Mordor and Gandalf was about to put himself about with his companion Nori.

Not started S2 yet but looking forward to it even though much of it is not Tolkien product, just Tolkien inspired.
