FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

  • Sure it's that Mandela effect in full flow here that we all seem to be OK with this. It's a fucking travesty and complete shitshow. He's our most prolific striker by a country mile, has been

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

The doubt re Tutu was always his fitness record but he seems now to have a solid run injury free. Still only 27... I would say a two year deal would be appropriate.

Right. This is a note, not a suggestion, but may advise the standard we're entering.

Dapo signed for Blackburn in the January window. He's presumably a better version than the one we sold.

In the last 9 games he was on the bench and was only brought on twice (61st & 76th minutes). He scored no goals & made no assists in the few games he appeared.

I know the Devil's in the detail and any number of other issues could be involved but I'd have given Zulu's right arm to have him back here.

Fergal Sharkey is key to all this but there are four types of signing and it will be interesting to see what balance is struck.

Singer, rivers campaigner and now football recruitment. Some cv 🙂

And didn’t he just. Can’t be understated just how much he improved and became not just a competent right back, but a really fucking good one.

If there was a player of the last 3rd of the season then Tutu would be top of the pile for me, closely followed by Forino and Kenny.

He’s surely done enough to earn another contract? I’m not sure how I’d feel about him being first choice right back going into a Championship season, but his rate of improvement this season and his pace mean I reckon there’s scope for him still being very useful - plus he can cover other positions.

Fair play to him, seems like a good lad too.

I agree Eddie and he also seems to have got over his previous regular injury problems. The way he’s improved defensively this season I’d actually have no problem trying him there in the Championship and bringing in another younger player as cover. I doubt he’d sign another deal to be a back up player and he’s far too good a player now to lose for nothing. Sign him up for me.

Cissoko will cost 1.4 m Euros if I recall correctly.

it was a loan with a buy option.

Then it’s a no for me I’m afraid however much I’ll miss that smile.

Less than we paid for Joel Randall.

If people think Ibby is good enough for next season, then £1.2m really is fuck all at that level.

I’d take him 💯

I’m not sure. He had an impact in the run in, but we have to consider his previous run at this level, where he was apparently even more underwhelming than he was for half of his spell here.

As much as I like him and he seems like a good character, there’s a good chance we can upgrade on him. As well as a few others. Including and not limited to, the goalkeepers

I'd wager finding out your club doesn't want you, being sent to a new country and having a newborn will rock a few players momentum. Gale or IC... IC everytime

This.

He has had some issues before, which were discussed at the time he came.

Maybe with the birth of his child, he will be happier, settled and more focused.

Reckon the baby has settled into a sleeping pattern too, as he doesn't seem knackered! 😀

Gale shouldn't be written off neither.

Another youngster, come on from another land, finding his way.

Lots to improve in terms of his defensive work, but he is quick, causes defenders problems and does score a few.

Ultimately it's down to the coaches now to work on them, improve them and see if they can move up to the next level.

I think we will be looking at better options than Cissokho. We own gale so likelihood is he's in the squad next season.

Getting ACD back would be massive. Potentially Corey Blackett Taylor to come back. There's gonna be other players that become possible now because of the league were in.

I wouldn't be against him as a squad player though if the price and wage are right.

Yeah, I'd choose Cissoko over Gale but I'm not sure those have to be the options we chose from

I'd love to sign him on a permanent deal.

It's going to be a huge challenge, even to assemble a squad that keeps its head above water with a degree of comfort.

We have to do it within the rules and are stuck with a few expensive deadwood from Evatt's last thrashings. Getting all those off the premises, on loan or for good, will no doubt be a priority for Fergal and SS.

We will though, as @Paul_Hanley said, have access to loanees clubs want to get experience at Champ level, and frees / paid transfers from a different sphere to where we've been shopping to date.

I'd re-sign Tutu, if he stays as fit as he has this season there's a good player in there, improved a lot. If Kenny’s injury isnt too serious and he'd be ready to start in Aug I'd go for him, same with CBT, has shown he can do it at that level.

Beyond that, Fergal and SS will no doubt have a healthy list of targets, many of whom aren't on any of our radars.

One of the bitter sweet parts of a day like yesterday is seeing lads enjoying the moment but knowing they'll probably be in SS's office in the week being told the journey's over.

I’d be looking at Dapo…. Think coming back here would excite and invigorate him.

Im usually a bit meh when theres a clamour for ex players to return. But many of his goals were like ACD's are, he'd potentially thrive in a Schumacher team.

Dapo sounds romantic, but i wouldn't say i'm sure he's at Championship level, what this team is desprately in the need for is some Championship experience. It's a big gap up from League 1, and we'll still have a lot of players who've never played higher than League 1 consistantly.

We could even get Rob Holding, he's playing in the states right now, not sure how their transfer market works. Blows my mind he's only 30.

After yesterday, I'd always be wary of being too emotional when it comes to player decisions and who we keep. The Championship is a big step up and it'll be beyond many of our current players level.

However, Jordi has been fantastic for months now. Deserves a new contract for me. I'd be delighted if we kept the tandem of him and ACD.

Another who doubted TuTu defensive credentials. May get a negative comment or two what i am going to say but i would only offer him a contract if ACD stays. Them two have a great understanding and graft for each other. When Apter was there TuTu struggled they just did not gel. Just my thoughts do not hang me for them

Cafu in his prime would struggle behind Apter.

On my way back yesterday got talking to a Charlton fan at the pub at Kings Cross

He asked me about Apter and said he's done nothing

He was shocked and thought he was going to set league one on fire

I’d set his contract on fire. Utter wank.

Loved CB-T, but he was a mostly unplayed reserve at Derby. So a middling club in our new division weren’t using him.

I do like him, but care must be taken on what in needed in the second division.
