Transfer Gossip

Strange how we have signed a player that was on loan in the division below where we are now and managed 6 games after joining on loan and people who thought the transfer window had been a disaster are suddenly giddy. 🤣🤣

More of a comment on our fans than Mr Hardie.

Same would apply to CBT but I'd love us to sign him.

I realise that's a comment on me more than CBT!

FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

  • Sure it's that Mandela effect in full flow here that we all seem to be OK with this. It's a fucking travesty and complete shitshow. He's our most prolific striker by a country mile, has been

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

If we are taking a risk on player with an injury history I would be happy with CBT.

Me too. Have Derby released him ? Otherwise another loan would be worth a go.

CBT played 7 games. He's a good player and his pace is exceptional, but we'd basically be paying Derby wages for him to spend half of it in the treatment room. As a backup at a push.

Trust the process. Hardie is a great fit. He loves schuey (which isn’t an easy thing I believe on a personal level manager to player)

We have a team who know what they are doing. Maybe working under constraints but this is Harkins expertise

Backups need to be available, when required. An injury-prone backup really is no backup.

Say that but I reckon he wins us at least 10 points next season whether he’s out for a portion of it or not

The thing then is they are all (predominantly) right footed; Gale, Dong, Lorrazabel and CBT.

We’re in desperate need of a left footed winger, regardless of whether we play inverted or not.

We need Duberry, or at least a Duberry replacement.

Is he really injury prone though or are we just looking at the last year because I’m not sure he had that many previously and would Parky have shelled out £700k for a player with a poor injury record? He’s here now and seems fit enough so let’s just trust he stays that way. On the other hand CBT has a long history of injuries so maybe more the one to miss out on?

Understood, & it is a risk.

But Kenny carries that risk. So does ACD. So do Hardie and Dean.

So do we think we are adding Max Dean before weekend or were the rumours just that? I imagine if we were it would have to be today given international clearance or does he not need that being English. Either way it would be nice to get him through the door ready to play or not.

Iles said he believed he was having a medical so there is a chance. Hope so

Thursday is the last day to register before a Saturday game iirc.

Back up? One of the first names on the teamsheet for me, because he's championship standard.

If we sign him on 1st September we're paying his wages for 4 months.

Assuming he's fit when he signs, that seems like a low risk signing to me, balancing our needs with the fact that nobody knows who's going to get injured next.

As much as it sends some folk into a spiral, have to love the way we conduct out transfer business. Fergal out and take your good heart with you .

I'm agreeing with you but also a bit pleased we might have to play a right footed player on the right wing 😄

Well it was a refreshing change seeing Lorrazabel there last Saturday.

And Gale did quite well on a few occasions going on the outside and using his left, despite him being right foot dominant.

But the next winger through the door surely has to be left-footed.
