Think it was gossip talk linking us with him but he’d be a great fit

We linked with him?

Hope not

We've just let a proven league two scorer go

Hoping we'll be looking for a replacement from league one or above, not national league

Not sure we've got that sort of money.

Bringing in a younger chap in the hope he'll make the grade is where we're at.

That sustainability that Sharon wants.

Not about money for me, just experience, when we went down the leagues with phoenix it didn't work out

When evatt went up the leagues last January, it did

Anyway, this guy at chesterfield is six months into a 3 year deal and scored 18 in 18, so doubt he's leaving or that he'd be relatively cheap if he was

It's not likely that better than Doyle are available within our budget though

We've already got Charles in remember- who ought to cut it at this level, and I'm sure IE would be interested if any others are around and approaching the end of the contract.

But if not, then something like this non league mon may represent better value for money long term.

It's always about money in the end.

Aye, so if we've got any would rather spend it on someone like Charles who's already performed at this level as opposed to someone who has done nowt in the football league

Other than Caldwell , Oghani ,Came , Mcateer and Santos have we had any other success stories when recruiting from Non League ? Although in all the years I've followed us our ability to bring youth through as been patchy at best .

Chuck younger players from other clubs into that- like Nolan. Still bringing them on from a lower level.

Which is what we have done.

As I say, if others are around he may go for them.

If not, then he has to look elsewhere.

We're not stumping up a million or so of that's what Morecambe want for Stockton.

Just seen Kieran Trippier making his debut for Newcastle

Signed yesterday for £12m

Swapped champions league for relegation battle

Wonder why

Not for money apparently. Thing is I’ve no issue with it, fair play. But when you go out of your way to deny it and say it’s for a challenge you lose a bit of respect.

Real Madrid were ready to get rid I think, so he will have been looking for somewhere else.

Can't blame him for taking a wedge as well.
