We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

  • Like when we went up from league 2, we needed tried and tested players from that specific division/level to deal with the task in hand. Doyle and Sarcs etc. We need exactly the same in this divis

Jimmy Phillips ran the Academy
His son Nat was at the Academy
The club offered Nat a pro contract

Someone at the Academy advised him not to sign it and told him to just walk away.

Guess who?

He was off to the States on a soccer scholarship wasn't he? Then Liverpool called.

Rehab Riley young lad went to Norwich last season one we could be lamenting in a few years.

Course he was, jimmy

Threkheld gone on to have a decent career but for some reason wasn’t liked at the club. The list goes on.

Every single club in the land has players like this that have been released or let go and made it elsewhere.

it’s a nonsensical argument that gets trotted out all the time.

we also have a certain section who wet themselves over the likes of samizdeh who was “the next big thing” “why have we released him”

If you fling enough shit at a wall some will inevitably stick.

and I saw nat philips listed above. We didn’t release him did we? I thought he walked. Can’t imagine why when Liverpool were wasting in the wings. Stupid cunt eh

This. Players don’t fit at a club. They leave and make it elsewhere. Happens all the time. Nat Philips was leaving because he knew at the time that he didn’t have a chance of making the first team. He was heading to the USA. Liverpool had scouted him and took the chance on him. He then had a choice USA or Liverpool reserves? Some choice

Tom Eaves was never going to be ready to play at the level we were at when we had him especially with his hit & miss loans but he really came to life in this league whilst at Gillingham bagging 17 & 21 in back to back seasons earning him a pretty good move to Hull that being said he's hardly been prolific there. He has got something about him though if you can get it out of him. Big old fashioned #9 with some decent ability with the ball at his feet

Baby sat at Huddersfield by David Wagner, Klopp's best mate.

People still believe in fairy stories.

BWFC should be getting a tidy sell on fee if Nat moves this month but hey ho. Not like the money would come in handy.

It would be easier to accept that, like every other club, we've let lots of good uns go, if our record at developing, keeping and/or selling on others, had ever been any good.

I'd wager that Wigan, Rochdale and even Bury have produced and sold on far more young talent than we have over the last 20 years.

In all our time in the premier league i can only think of one player who left us going for a 8 figure fee Anelka

I can think of at least three who we had as kids Mooy, Ramsdale and Brookes and two others who may go for 8 figures in the next 12 months Holding and Phillips

True, but £numbers have exploded (again) in the past 3 years. I can't believe the amounts paid for decent, but very ordinary, fringe-Premiership players. I assume their wages match.

Hopefully a decent sell on clause for Holding.

I'm not saying he took the money- the club needed it at the time. He is still a cunt though.

I think to suggest we’ve missed out on a quality player, it would be fair enough that you could name him in the case of Bournemouth lad?

I lived near Bartley at the time he went and we received a fair whack from memory?

James Hill. Apologies, I was half concentrating.
