  • FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

I'm living in hope rather than expectation I must admit and hope usually doesn't end great in football but If we can stear clear of injuries and keep the team spirit unfashionable thing rolling who knows.......I mean it's not like we're Leicester trying to win the premiership ffs!!!

5 goals in 36 games last season for Wilbraham isn't exactly encouraging. However, as a big lump as a bit of a foil for ALF...?

Can't say I'm "happy" with the transfer activity but being realistic Parky and Ken are working well around the restrictions so good on em - at least we're seeing summat happening rather than standing still which would have been a lot worse

Been happy with our business this summer so far

Wilbraham won't be a starter but it's either him or an unknown to provide cover and be a squad player so can't be too down about it

Always rated Wilbraham as a one up striker. Seem to remember seeing him playing for MK Dons and looking quite useful.

I wouldn't waste a valuable squad place on wilbraham he's been decent but passed it I'd be suprised if our current owner would consider him to be an asset.

Put him out for cup games

I'm sort of on the fence about signing Wilbraham, probably because of his age. Had a look on wiki and he's scored1 in 3 for Bristol City.

Apparently well thought of at Bristol City where they are after getting him into coaching. Makes me think he must look after himself and his experience could be good for Madine. Anyway we'll see what happens.

Have to disagree here Mounts. He's hardly the most mouth-watering prospect, but a cheap backup for Madine is surely anything but a waste of a squad space.

Given how clueless we were without a target man in his absence last season, I'd say it's pivotal we have someone in Wilbraham's mold waiting on the sidelines.

wilbraham would be about as inspiring as ian marshall

I've no problem with us signing Wilbraham.

We're in desperate need of a back up target man.

He might be old but I think he's more than capable of doing the job.

Marshall wasn't 37 and had played many games in the the top flight Wilbraham not fit to lace Marshalls boots.

Not fit to lace his dogs boots*

Simply the best.

Put Sam's tracker on the dog, and then try explaining how you've covered so many miles.

Poor mans Trevor Morgan

Good back-up for Madine given our game plan . He is a grafter so fans will like him given time . People seem to be forgetting we have

not got a pot to piss in!

Anyone else no idea who wilbraham is?

Yeah this. I'm sure if we had money Madine would be long gone. But we haven't got any money, so Madine is probably the best striker of his type we can afford. Wilbraham probably decent backup given he's fit after a pre-season but won't cost much.

Quality up front is the area that really shows up the wealthy clubs from those without a pot to piss in. And we're having to make do with what we've got. ALF and Armstrong are both decent considering our situation. I do worry that ALF is maybe going to struggle though as to me he looks like his little bit of pace over a few yards is fading. Hope I'm wrong.

I've heard of him from his Stockport days, 20 years ago

and everytime I hear his name mentioned on some footy show or other, my initial thought is "fuck me, is he still going?"

turns out he's won promotion from every division, including the championship twice, and scored in every division

whatever, I just don't see any need to get upset about him signing

Thats exactly where im at. Listening to GMR and hearing Jimmy Wagg mentioning the chap

think he scored that last minute goal when they beat us 4-3 about 20 years ago after we came back from 3 down.

aye, was him (17 years ago to be precise)

basically he makes me feel old

Wilbraham or Wilkinson ?

Another position upgraded.

A good pro, maybe some of that will rub off on Madine.

just seen that Neymar is on £3,547 an hour

Same as the mechanic who fixed my car last month then.
