We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

Drogba and Kane combined.

What with his Beckhamesque free kicks thrown in too

Is madine a Sunderland fan?

Anyone quoting BN comments section is going on ignore. FYI.

Ken isn't stupid enough to sell our best player and top scorer to a relegation rival.

no, but he's also not looking to pay wages etc out of his own pocket, so any decent fee will be considered and if he does go then he'll tell Parky he has ALF and Wilbraham ready to go if we don't find one to bring in on loan

so if it's £2M plus, he could be off - be a good move for Sunderland that, would make them better and us weaker, which is why footballing wise, it'd be a disaster of a move for us, but, from a business side, it'd be good short term business, which is always KA's aim

hopefully it's all bolllocks

According to Phil The Wanderer on BN Comments an offer for Madine has been accepted.

I know this is likely to be man in a pub type rumour but worrying if true.

Sunderland may be getting desperate and were strongly linked a few weeks back.

Can’t believe we are commenting on a BN comment. Obviously slow news day. But if you are going to quote at least quote accurately. Phil The Wanderer says he believes the club has received an offer and it will be accepted”.

Isn’t the Club vicar called Phil, it must be him.

No and according to iles a while back 'he hates Sunderland'

Selling a championship striker who has 9 goals already for £2M isn't good business in the long, medium or short term.

Whilst I generally agree that Ken will want to balance the books, in this very specific instance it makes little sense to sell a player who we know is irreplaceable in this window and who we also know without his services we'll be in league one next season. That is about a £5M loss through TV money alone.

That’s because he’s Newcastle fan.

The knives were out when we sold clough.

We replaced him with Alf and morias and got promoted.

If Madine goes he will be replaced.

it’s took time to get the best from madine and that role he does is not an easy job

Won’t be an easy replacement and we haven’t got time to give a new striker

That’s because he’s Newcastle fan.

he'd still do it for a shorter car journey home and a wage rise

lee clark did it anyway, then went to the cup final in 98 with his mates wearing this sad mackam bastards t shirt

Clough was replaced in reality by a Bradford reserve who we got the best out of for part of a season. Clough was also as it turns out, not that critical to our side. We missed Ameobi more.

Madine is absolutely critical to everything we do. We haven't got anyone else who we can play and get results with. So we'd need another mobile target man, prepared to run and run and run, who can also get goals in the championship. Also someone who wins aerial battles for fun. And is fit and ready to go and in form.

Good luck with that.

£5M?

no chance

it was £100k for a home game in the championship last season and £10k for away

Promotion was worth 5m I remember reading that

Anyway by sounds of bolton news Pratleys injury could be similar to a previous injury with a lengthy time out

I’m sure each Championship team gets £5m in a one off payment each season in some sort of agreement with the PL to improve the standard of the teams coming up from the division below

£5M?

Ken said last year the difference was 5/6M between the two divisions.

this article:

http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/revealed-how-much-newcastle-united-12844008

reckons:

‘basic award’ of £2.084million regardless of postion

£4.3million ‘solidarity payment’  donated by the PL

so £6M, last season

then 100k / 10k for each TV appearance

so it's money KA needs

but I still think if a few million were bid for Madine, he'd accept to cover costs and gamble on us staying up - particularly if the alternative is him covering the costs from his own pocket

we need cash right now, like we did when we accepted a lower offer for clough if paid up in full, and like we did negotiating holdings add ons being paid up early

same with Vela, if the right offer comes in in terms of money going out, they'll be off, whatever that amount  might be, doubt it'll be peanuts, but doubt it will be seen as a good deal by the fans

might be wrong, and it's not a pop, it's just how it probably is, all the statements from KA have been pointing towards this anyway

I think you're being dramatic and over egging Gary Madine.

Each to their own like but he's a decent couple of months. That's it.

Fair play to him like. And long may it continue but let's spoil our underpants just yet.

So do we get Robinson back now ?? His punishment should be over by now, poor lad..........

Decent couple of months.

Plus last season when we couldn’t win without him

you can definitely see the ones who have always had him down as pretty shit

anyway, we might just find out how much we do/don't need him

i hope we dont

Think Parky has handled him very well to be fair. He fits with the way we play and the manager. Not sure he will do as well elsewhere.

Definitely need to keep hold of him.
