We need another as well as Conway, can't rely on him being available for every game. Same on the right side we have JDC but can't keep hoping his run of good health keeps him available.

FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

  • Sure it's that Mandela effect in full flow here that we all seem to be OK with this. It's a fucking travesty and complete shitshow. He's our most prolific striker by a country mile, has been

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

Certainly the new Santos this lad.

On that video, he has a bit pace and can get those last ditch tackles and blocks in like his predecessor could.

Two signed from Scottish football (albeit out of contract there)- farmers and pubs! :)

I'm not sure Jones will be replaced, as Inwood looked capable last season, and we still have Johnston, Toal, and Forino.

Indeed, it wouldn't surprise me if one was moved on.

If any of those 3 go before Forrester ill be surprised, but yes, one of those 4 still leaves us with 4 'first teamers'

Think he was a wing back at Crewe but left sided

He's already proven himself to be solid.

Good in an attacking sense from set pieces too, which is a benefit.

I would not be losing any centre backs: Toal, Taylor, Johnston, Forrester, Forino. Three of those can also play full back. Enough depth in case he wants to play three in the centre - especially given it seems Simons can play there as well.

Iles has been hinting at more incomings next week. This does now look like a very big change of personnel incoming and a fresh start. It will be as interesting to see who leaves.

Everyone is right to be pointing out how we have finally signed some physicality. I would say remaining new signings need the same. We are so lacking in that aspect that even with the new lads we would be vulnerable if injuries struck. Bloody Evatt!

Not sure I agree with the "Not losing any centre backs" They all have been culpable with our shocking defensive frailties last season. I wouldn't be surprised to see Toal and Johnstone go and SS to bring in replacements.

I quite like Forrester, he's decent enough if free from injury and/or a niggle and with a run could be really solid. I hope so anyway.

Hes fine

But

Hes small

Hes as injured as the rest

Disappeared end of season, may or may not have really been injured

That's the thing for me, those disappearances at the end from so many players.

Makes you wonder about the professionalism of some.

Looks like some of them will be disappearing for good. The Hull full back looks like the next one in.

But makes me wonder if SS went to war too soon

Long term, maybe it had to be done

Short term, we missed a chance of top 6

Just wonder if it was worth putting off the fight til we couldnt go up

Suppose it depends when it happened...but it did happen, no doubts in my mind

Mate of mine is a St Mirren fan and says we've got a good 'un with Richard Taylor - 'good on the ball, physical, improved alot over the season and has the potential to be a very good player. Sad to see him go but hope he shines for you'

They proved themselves in the SPL so it's fair they get to see if they can make the step up to L1

It's a big ask but in SS we trust

SS, Fergal and Jimmy seem to have a good handle on who's worth looking at up in the SPL. Another worth a gander is Ronan Hale, striker for Ross County, good player, done well and bagged 18 goals in a struggling side and made Northern Ireland debut this season

Maybe something came to a head and had to be dealt with there and then?

Maybe he was just shocked at how bad things were in training and the dressing room?

I have no idea of course but I agree something happened.

I think we can agree it didnt improve things

It may have made his mind up on a few of em though

I remember how he was after the Lincoln game. That one seemed to have tipped him over the edge in his post match interview

Forrester comes across as wholly professional and committed.

He went off with a hamstring injury v Bristol Rovers.  SS said the week after he'd had a scan and the results said it was a heavy grade hamstring strain and he'd miss the last month of the season.  Are we suggesting SS made that up?  Players miss a month with a hamstring all the time (unless you're Cogley).

Not at all, as I said I like Forrester.

It was more of a general statement on the capitulation of the performances and the sheer number of injuries late on.

You don't really believe they had the balls to succeed in the play offs do you?

In other news, Liam Gordon left Walsall to sign for Port Vale.

I must admit I didn't see a L1 standard full back when he played for us, but he's obviously improved, good luck to him.

The whole team was culpable.

We've seen the individuals be good too- we used to have a very good record.

For whatever reason, it went to rat shit.

Ideally, keeping all those defenders would be welcome, but I simply can't see it, given the squad size.

I thought he was one that went a little early. Not suggesting he’s our standard but he’s back level pegged on merit.
