But its not all about stats, Collins can be great to watch and he can be MOM without scoring because of his talent - I don't think McAtee (or Charles) have that in them.  We'll miss an in-form Collins but we can replace his goals, and we definitely won't miss the "gone missing" Collins which seemed to increase in regularity the longer the season went on.

He is that quandary type of player, has the ability to get you off your seat once in a while with a cut-in and blast, or produce a late winner when he's otherwise been rank in a game (Blackpool home for example) but beyond that he can go an hour without contributing anything of note, especially if we are out of possession.

The last quarter of the season (yes, in common with many others) his positive impact dribbled away to nothing.

In theory his goals will need replacing, but less so if a more workmanlike and physical front three retain possession better and help us defend better, so we concede far fewer. It's also possible that the two other players off Dalby score 7 or 8 each and a better structured unit help scoring underachievers like Morley and Sheehan chip in with more

That’s not to say we wouldn’t listen to offers for McAtee or Randall either.

there's a reason why 3 teams are sniffing around Collins and as far as we know none or sniffing around them two

it's because they did fuck all last season

Not going to lie I’ll be disappointed to see this happen, Collins is a moments player but at least he actually gets goals/assists & isn’t afraid of shooting. We shouldn’t be cashing in on what we paid for him, surely should be making some decent profit he’s a proven top end L1 player & it isn’t like MK/Hudds aren’t loaded with the amount they’re throwing at everybody. Him & McAtee were frustrating as hell the near end of the season when the new manager bounce wore off but to be fair to them they’d been ran into the complete ground & were playing out on their feet due to us replacing Dion with an injured lamp post who couldn’t contribute at all. Never really got to show what he could do in his favoured position the left wing either where he played when he won L1 POTY for Brizzle Rovers.

Not sure mcatee will be around,   apparently (and info not from bloke in the pub) that he was given a final warning at the end of season after turning up to 2 games half cut !

Day after the warning he is posting photos of himself on it in beefa!

Got someone in trouble this so I'd suggest it's true 🤦‍♂️

I've not, that was exactly my point

we're not going to get bids for McAtee and Randall

selling Collins as things stand will weaken us

I do hope we bring in someone like Ennis to replace him, but we won't be the only ones in for him and we've seen Roughan join Huddersfield, so nothing is certain

but as I've said I've seen us sell players in L1 for profit before and not replace them, and we're still in L1

this is the mess we've been left with though, good luck to SS sorting it out whilst trying to challenge

tbh, & I know money talks, but if Collins leaves for L2 MK Don's then his ambition is questionable.

If he left to a L1 challenger, fair play I guess. He has the talent, has he the drive ?

I think again some realism. They are not on mega bucks and if you can get more you move. It’s a job to them.

Absolutely. Most of us, presented with more money for doing the same job, in arguably a more comfortable environment, would no doubt take it. We tend to think because they're footballers they shouldn't think like normal people from time to time

Its a good point that we'd be less likely to concede if we had a stronger player up front, just making us stronger all over the pitch like Wycombe and Wrexham has to be of benefit.

I agree in the last quarter of the season he tailed off - but just had a look at when he scored goals, and a third of his goals were in March and April, so anyone looking just at stats would say he improved 😀

I hadn't realised he didn't score a goal till 19th Oct (tap in v Burton) and before his winner v Blackpool 23rd Nov he'd scored all of one.  So if he was crap in the last quarter, and crap upto 23rd Nov - are we going to miss him that much?

Had a real purple patch from end Dec to end Jan, scoring 5 of his 12.

His best moments were obviously the winning goals v Blackpool, Huddersfield, Brum and Bristol.  But not exactly irreplaceable.

If McAtee did "nothing", how much did Collins do?  There didn't seem a lot of difference between the 2 when they were on the pitch - half decent in patches, a few decent goals, weak as piss, inconsistent.  If McAtee is 1 out of 10, Collins must be a 2 at best?

Been in the works a while that one hasn't it, been in on trial a couple of times, few big boys after him.

Looks a talent, scored a hell of a lot of goals at non-league level last year or two.
