You don't really believe they had the balls to succeed in the play offs do you?

It’s widely acknowledged that it was a joke under the last man. I reckon they raised their game for a bit then old habits died hard.

Team of jokers and Schuey and interestingly Harkin are sorting it. Every signing has referenced him. Suggests we are finally behaving like a club our size should.

FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

  • Sure it's that Mandela effect in full flow here that we all seem to be OK with this. It's a fucking travesty and complete shitshow. He's our most prolific striker by a country mile, has been

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

To be honest and with hindsight I'm glad we didn't, think it might of papered over the cracks.Because of how the season ended I think it made it clear to SS the problems we had and also gave him more time scouting for players

You might be right and hes a lot closer to it then me

I just feel he had em in a place where it was harder to miss top 6 and somehow we did

By a wide margin

Anyway, saved a fortune

He had them in a place new manager bounce and all that but it was the players yet again that could not grasp the opportunity

if we had managed it though and muddled through to the  playoff we weren’t winning it and defeat would have left another hangover going into this season and less time to prepare

He needed to see what  he is dealing with and that’s how it turned out .
What’s the old saying you can learn more from a defeat  than a win he as seen there frailties as a squad and individuals a good manager will sort this given time and resources

SS, Fergal and Jimmy seem to have a good handle on who's worth looking at up in the SPL. Another worth a gander is Ronan Hale, striker for Ross County, good player, done well and bagged 18 goals in a struggling side and made Northern Ireland debut this season

Well the last ex Ross County forward we had didn’t do too bad did he?

David N'Gog ???

This Simons lad looks like what I had in mind when I imagined a big physical fucker to fit in and bring the best out of Morley and Sheehan in midfield.

We've finally signed the Hansons from Slap Shot then

I like the look of the Simons and Taylor, they both fit the bill yet the jury’s out on Dalby for me.

If Collins goes, I’d fully expect a direct replacement who has proven 15-20 goals on his CV otherwise I’d be disappointed. Similar to Charles leaving and not being replaced.

If that rumour about Mcatee a couple of pages ago is true then he needs fucking off.

We just need a couple of wingers with an eye for goal and we’re looking in decent shape early on.

Gonna throw it out there but I wonder what Paris is thinking this summer especially with Frank leaving for spurs.

It’s amazing, a couple of signings and the optimism is already starting to build.

We are Bolton Wanderers and we should be aiming for autos. COYFWM!

He plays as a deeper lying midfielder.

Sheehan's position.

I'm not sure that SS sees them together.

This

Evatt should have gone after Oxford.

Last season was like a weird, bad dream. Like every week we were waiting for something to happen, shite possession based (with no end product) football. So bad that at one game over 5k season ticket holders didn't show.

Everything "not right".

Re defenders, Forino or Toal can go for me. Forester as something different (fight) the type of shaven headed nutcase look of man who will head an opponents ankles to block a goal.

Collins scores goals, so can afford to be lazy(ish) because the goals he scores he "creates", Macatee shoes nothing, his goals have been "whoever was on the pitch in his shirt would have scored" goals.

We have to possible great wingers if they can stay fit. Tutu and Mencez Gomez.

Wingers who can hopefully cross the paul for the Scottish/Welsh bloke to head in.

Whilst I agree with most of this mcatee’s finish against Birmingham at home was quality, along with his first touch

He already knew though. Evatt called it on his way out.

Taylor and Tutu. Cool.

CBs? Ok if we can keep them fit.

Im hoping for another big striker and the mythical midfield bastard.

Hope non league Charlie makes the grade.

SS will play a different formation, next season. Perhaps 4-2-3-1. No single defensive midfielder but 2 solid, yet creative, 6s side-by-side: Morley and Simons? This might free Sheehan up to play 8 in the 3 (it is his number, after all). With current personnel, Randall and Dempsey are also candidates for this role.

However, not all may be around, next season.

I think Taylor's a CB rather than FB/WB

There are question marks over so many players futures for me. I'm probably being dramatic, but apart from maybe Morley, Forrester, Southwood (backup) and probably Thomason, I think the rest of the squad could well be offloaded  if it's possible.

We'll have a better idea about where McAtee as soon as he shows up for pre season. He looked about half a stone overweight to me last season. Wouldn't suprise me if he's piled it on over the summer.

Did he ?

He probably heard what Evatt said but do you believe everything you hear. After all Evatt was blaming anyone but himself

I want more centre backs with a few shipped out. We can’t blame the defence solely on having a powder puff midfield. Some of the organisation and goals conceded last year were comical

Anybody who thinks drinking is not a major thing amongst footballers are very naive. Watch any of under the cosh podcasts to see how widespread it is. They are wealthy males in their 20s it will never change.

It will be up to Schumacher staff to put any players through the wringer if they come back a few pounds over...No excuses for anyone turning up to games half cut.
