We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

  • Like when we went up from league 2, we needed tried and tested players from that specific division/level to deal with the task in hand. Doyle and Sarcs etc. We need exactly the same in this divis

This is something i think some people on here need to understand.

This: "weak mentality" thing was NONSENSE made up by Evatt to excuse his own failings... that's it, nothing more, nothing less.

You're talking shite as per.

Every single one are weak as piss

Because theyre physically weak, yes that is what i'm saying. We signed a bunch of lightweight players with good technical stats, but they need strong players to play off.

Its like signing 3 Stelios's playing them upfront and wondering why theyre doing rubbish without SKD.

Tbf, I wouldn't be too arsed if we ended up replacing them all :D

Mcatee proper does my head in. Strutting about gesticulating like he's sacrificed Champions League football for L1 to do us a favour lol

i think SS fucked up picking a fight with the players at a pivotal point of the season (if he did and id say all the evidence points to it)

however, once he did, anybody who downed tools (as it appeared collins did) can fcuk right off

My thoughts entirely.

The belief is this is 100% how it's played out.

sold our two top scorers in 6 months

so hope we are looking at bringing someone in with a decent strike rate at this level or above

Think he plays as a left winger for Salford

I don’t mind Forino. I’d sack McAtee if at all possible.

If the alcohol stuff is true surely we can sack him. If it is bollocks then we are stuck

Surely there’s a club in league one who we could loan him out to

I can’t understand all this we’ll struggle to move on McAtee stuff. I agree we’d never get what we paid for him and he may not be right for Schu’s new system but he’s still a very good player in the right team, he just might not fit here it seems. I think there would be plenty of L1 clubs who’d take him off our hands if the price is right and if the booze things is just bollocks I’d be perfectly happy for him to stay here with Collins gone.

Do you really think this was where this broke down?

Loads of injures, a couple of defeats that should never have been, loss of confidence, all added to a terrible loss of form. After the Brum performance we didn't suddenly become a bad team.

We did. That is in the record.

Let me explain it to you.

Evatt had a style of play, which was for simplification pass teams to death.

At first he signed players with that in mind but with some flexabilty, players like Bod, MJ, Lee and more fit this mold.

He then decided after the play off defeat that he needed to double down on his style, better passers and a new formation etc. which was something like 32221 with wing backs and 2 no 10's, this is why we have 5/6 of them.

This didnt work because teams worked out the flaws in his orginal system towards the end of the year before. This was overwhelm the midfield and press the defence, except it worked better now as there was 1 less midfieler in the centre. This had the impact of making our defenders look terrible and is why we've had so many injuries.

At the same time those flexable players i mentioned above were moved on for new players which were signed in order to meet Evatts technical reqirements for the new formation. This had the impact of removing both pace, strength and aggression out of the team.

At this point the team was fundementally broken, it couldn't play any way other than Evatt's way, which was a fundamentally flawed system developed by a manager without the experience to know better.

SS couldnt fix any of these issues because what was required was a 3/4 good players with pace and strength, to create a backbone from which our technical players (we had too many of) could play off and be supported and defeneded by.

Mentality had sweet FA to do with it.

The decision is clearly ours and not his.

SS has been clear over the last few weeks about how he wants to go about things and the types he wants for that approach.

Ten minutes after that Lincoln game, I reckon SS had made his mind up about which of the current lot would be part of it. Just about kept a lid on his anger, and that 'we'll just have to get some better players in' comment stuck with me.

They were all shite that day but Collins was the worst

This Kelly Nmai just had a look at the normal  youtube   highlights.....Mainly right footed[ very right footed]

Not got a clue how to defend or mark up.....Out and out winger i am getting a feeling now with the players Schumacher is targettng and the length of contracts handed out he does not fancy us doing well next season.

I think he has a remit to get promotion in the 26/27 season

Hence the long contracts and the age of the players he is recruiting.......May have to take a step back to go two forward

Or he's building a unit of tough fast and direct players ready for a promotion push?

We are going for it big style imo

The fella before assembling this squad. They stunk the gaff out long before Schuey arrived. If he’d have bit his lip it would have been embarrassing in the play offs. He was spot on to rip into em.

Spot on.

He’s not going to use the excuse that they’re Evatt’s failures.

He’s going for a massive overhaul imo, using his players with his systems.

Good lad.

Let’s just hope that there’s a decent name coming in up top. Surely they’re not that naive as to let Charles and Collins go within 6 months without a recognised replacement coming in. Dalby’s an unknown quantity and hasn’t don’t anything in this league before.

All the best to Collins, them scenes away at Huddersfield this year are what it’s all about

Why did Messi need Mascherano and Busquets to play at his best?

Do you think he'd have done AS well if there was a fictional Aess and Bessi(with identical characteristics to him) playing instead of them?

You need a balance, we didnt have it, which is why we sucked.

We will have it this season which is why we'll be promoted.

Because for the first time since we come up from league 2 we've had a competent manager.

If you dont agree with this...sorry youre a M o_n G!
