We don't know a great deal regarding GT and most admit that but the general theme these days is that almost all signings are well received due to the trust the fans have in Parky and those above him.

They've made a few mistakes (who doesn't) but generally most of the signings have improved us.

My take is that we've signed the captain from a bigger club (albeit a league below) and he's only 24

But you're midfielders are like the wife's car. Spends most of its time on the drive & gets by-passed all the time.

I think the "we've signed your captain" thing is a bit overplayed in this instance

Mostly because of the circumstances in which he was made captain

If you take out the good season (Wigan) and the bad season (last season), then in between he's scored 25 goals in his last 80 appearances. Which were all in the Championship. So 1 every 3.2 games.

No striker we've had since Le Fondre would get anywhere near that

Is this the conclusion without Dion Charles (45 goals in 122 games: 1 every 2.7 and much better) and Aaron Collins (20 goals in 64 games: an identical rate)?

For neither of the above did I gerrymander the numbers to make a (poor) point.

If we’re looking to improve, he ain’t the man for me.

He's certainly an upgrade on Vic&Dan.

I think he'll be decent me.

It's on.

I reckon he will be a decent signing got the experience and a couple of Latics fans I know  would prefer him rather than Mullin.

Dion Charles is 29 and potentially about to be bombed out of Huddersfield. Aaron Collins is 28 and just dropped back down to L2.

Neither have played a single second of their careers in the Championship and odds are they never will. So no, I don't think in a million years they could score 1 in 3 at that level.

Plenty on youtube of Keanes Goals at Wigan, Hull, Preston etc

What is very striking he comes short for the ball and  he does not score with his head

Not a issue but we have just invested in wingers

Get the point you're trying to make here but signing wingers doesn't mean our plan is to score every goal with a header from a floated cross from out wide.

If anything, it gives two options. We can score that type of goal with a Dalby type player or wingers can deliver cut back crosses for a more "fox in the box" type player. If only we had a prime Klasnic.

But it is a fact they have signed our captain. Don’t get why folk are trying to play him down.

Got to agree

the lads a talent and got some balls.

We need something coming inwards..

Yorkshire Post reporting Huddersfield and Wanderers interested in Luca Connell.

I thought he'd signed for Wycombe ?

It seems Huddersfield are scouting by seeing who we're looking at & bidding/paying higher.

Wycombe have had several bids turned down think Barnsley want a lot for him.

If we're playing two in midfield, with last season's team, it would've been GT and Morley/Sheehan.

It'll now be Simons and Morley/Sheehan.

So how has he not replaced Thomason? One has taken the place in the team of the other.

SS said we need another, so it suggests Simons isn't his replacement.

As it is at the moment, I reckon the new lad will slowly replace Sheehan, but again, until we've seen the players in proper action against other league one teams.
