I think itโ€™s clear to see that SS intends to get rid of as many of IE players as he can. I wonder how many will actually still be here by this time next year..๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I don't think that is the case per se.

Remember a number had ended their contracts, and some perhaps made it clear they were off.

Only Dan and Lolos have been told to find a new club.

His ideas of the restructuring just necessitate selling some to spend.

Always was part of the intended way of progressing.ย

We will only know how effective it has been in the coming months.

Im wondering if theyve looked at it and decided the way to create funds is to sell those we think we can get good (possibly best) value for

Atm youd be selling CMG, Randall, McAtee at a loss, but SS may back himself to get use/reduce the losses

It makes more sense to me than getting shut, just because

GT is all profit, Collins isnt increasing in value (plus he doesnt want to put the work in)

Id be tasking SS with getting max money for JM and JR even if he wants rid

Ps the above is my attempt at being as off the wall as one or 2 others

ย

But on reflection, it makes more sense then them :)

Are the ins a clear upgrade in ability? Think the jury is out on that one. Still time and money to spend though.

Could also add Matete and Lolos to the outs, effectively.ย  And add Conway to the in's?

8 regular squad players gone or going, 7 added so far (6 outfield players in and 6 out).

First job for SS is getting enough out of McAtee and Randall to bring their valuations back up somewhere near what we overpaid for both of them. It's a win-win if he does, we benefit from their improvement, we balance the books if someone comes in for them.ย

I know it's only Transfermarkt but at the minute we're well in deficit on McAtee and Randall, while we'll probably have to accept the hit on the likes of Nlundulu and Lolos, who decent money was shelled out on but are currently worth very little.ย

I think youโ€™re right - profit vs. contribution to the team/squad.

GT might have been seen as a decent member of the squad and SS would rather have kept him, but based on the market he (likely) was our most profitable asset. In that case you make a call on is he that essential to the success of this team that you simply canโ€™t cash inโ€ฆ the answer is no, no matter the differing views on how good he was, he wasnโ€™t the sole lynchpin that this team relied on to even have a chance.

Similarly, even though we โ€˜got our money backโ€™ on Collins, for the books itโ€™s a decent profit because heโ€™s done a year and a half of his [3] year contract. That means his value in the books is half his initial price so weโ€™ve actually made profit.

The question then comes, how much of a loss do you take on those you mention, if you can break even then you might just do it, but if you canโ€™t then you probably think thereโ€™s no value in taking the loss and thereโ€™s more scope to improve market value for them than where it currently stands (whilst all the while their value in the accounts is reducing in line with their contract length).

Apologies, slightly boring financial side to it, but I do think these things will be front and centre of considerations when deciding who to get rid of or not.

Spending the money on Will Keane

Pretty sure they are billionairesย

Hardly, I think they were worth reportedly ยฃ65m and ยฃ125m respectively and whilst they have put money in I would imagine itโ€™s the Disney money thatโ€™s funded most so far. Itโ€™s ok going from National League to L! but the further up you go the deeper the pockets you need. Even the Championship will be a stretch for them and unless they get bigger investors I donโ€™t see them going any further. I somehow feel it might be bust bubble time.

Weโ€™ve sold and released a few players who finished outside the playoffs in League One, and have bottled nearly all big games (Wembley was an exception) over the last two seasons. In the course of this, we have raised north of ยฃ2 million (probably) in transfer fees and cut more than ยฃ1 million per year from the wage bill.

The rebuild is underway.

Keane may be the short term answer, 4 goals in 31 games last season is not prolific

32 now and is starting to spend time out injured

ย

Maybe we are panicking a bit but Schumacher may think we can land Kenny on the last day and Dalby will be back fit by then.

Rather he went for Jota and think about the future

Would be a nominal fee they are after bringing both Smith and Lang in and need Keane off their books

You're talking out of your arse again. It takes about three seconds on Google to find that Reynolds alone made $300m from selling his 25% stake in Mint Mobile.

Do a bit of research before posting it'll stop you looking like such a clueless idiot all the time.

Youโ€™re right, Iโ€™m a clueless idiot. ย I was sure I saw the values somewhere recently but clearly I got them wrong. In fact Iโ€™ve an idea it was actually on the Disney thing, Iโ€™ll have to check but I canโ€™t be right all the time can I?

How long are his socks?

Looked at highlights on youtube looks more a teni n the Mcateeย  mould...........Never heads the ball

Its a no from me

I think some folk are overthinking our transfer strategy and/or attempting to interpret whatโ€™s happening in a way that they feel justifies earlier Septic Peg theories about everything from alleged relationships with the manager to personality traits of people they donโ€™t know.

The reality is Schumacher et al are strictly business. They have realised that trying to play like Barca/City with league 1 standard lightweights isnโ€™t the way forward anymore and possession based football mainly across the back is pointless and has had its day so theyโ€™re changing the system to something more similar to Newcastle or ย Brighton - and to do that they need different players. Everything is geared towards moulding the squad to a different physical profile with a different skillset, itโ€™s that simple.

Some players they canโ€™t move on - yet - but theyโ€™ll try anyway.

Some players they might prefer to keep but they can make money to fund the transition from them.

Some players they can use in a different role or train up to improve.

Itโ€™s all business and has fuck all to do with Evatt or personality or relationships. Itโ€™s all about having the players best suited to playing a different way and nowt else.

Hull fans i know reckon Simons is a very good signing for this levelย

You have Included the two loan signings in, but omitted the three loan signings out

TSL and Crozier-Duberry are streets ahead of Murphy, Matete and Etete.....If we also got Kenny in on the last day on loan i would say yes a improvement

Schumacher/Harkin have also significantly reduced the wage billย

At the end of the season i wanted us to keep three players Morley, Collins and Thomason

Two have now gone and it bothers me not.

Simply no place for either in Schumacher new formation

We are not playing with a old fashioned left midfielder or a forward that hangs out on the left to cut in

We have others in the team who i cannot see in a Schumacher team most notably Schon, Sheehan and Gomes

Think all three will be gone before the window closes along with Dempsey and Adaboyejo come January

No place for those in a 4/2/3/1 formation we will play the majority of the season

I don't think the decision to move Collins on was tactical

He'd have fit in perfectly wide left in a 4-2-3-1

I do not agree Schumacher wants out and out wingers and a ten in the three....With a lump up top

Iย  think Gayle will be nowhere as effective as Collins individually but is far more suited to the system

ย

Collins cut in and shot mainly he played for himself......Gayle will be tasked with providing crosses for Dalby

Iย  wanted Collins to stay but now can see Schumacher thinking

Again i was thinking we would go away at places like Stockport etc and Thomason would go wide left into a midfield four, but now that theory has been blown out the water and it seems Schumacher is taking the game to teams both home and away.

Will Keane fits the bill of the experienced guy to rotate in and play when needed. It depends on what his wage demands are. If he came, it would piss those wankers up the road off.ย

He's 6 ft 2, can play on his own and hold the ball up. He can bring others into play. Seems like he's surplus to requirements at PNE. This seems a more logical signing if the fee and wages are reasonable.ย

I don't get these people who are clamouring for us to get Dion back. He cant play up top by himself, he can't hold the ball up. He's not the type of striker we need.ย ย
