That's Blackpool losing in the play off final then.

Plenty of scope for ingame changes and the likes.

Think this Hull lad can play as wide forward and a 10 too.

Oh aye, no doubt about that.

Just not sure how you keep a loanee's club happy if he isn't a regular starter.

Presumably, as SS has discussed things with the player, he and his club are happy at the moment- just wonder how that looks in 3 or 4 months time.

I know a staffer from Hull. Told he’s a good lad, works hard, plenty of potential for improvement, but he was down the pecking order and we shouldn’t expect much return by way of goals.

they don't have a packing order according to their fans.

or any forwards left.

Been catching up with all the transfer news & PNE friendly. Have to say was pleasantly surprised, was in York for a stag & a notification popped saying we'd signed that Erhahon out of the blue who about 95% of the watchers of our league speak of him as if he's the dogs b*llocks so looking forward to seeing how he can help us kick on. We've needed a midfielder who specializes is doing the ugly side of the game whilst also being tidy with the ball for ages, a type of player we neglected season after season under the previous regime. Hoping signing Burstow means we've walked away from the Ahadme deal, don't want to do a Charlton & be lumbered with him for 3/4 years on decent wedge if he is as bad as they say. Burstow on a season whilst being more versatile across the front line is a lot better. Fingers crossed we manage to get our main target to finish off the great business we've done, Huddersfield got theirs in May, Stockport are about to get theirs in Lowe, now it's time to get ours in Kenny. He seems a different sort to the others, more of a presser with very high work rate capable of a few goals too so would provide perfect balance up top

I'm only guessing here but there are "development" loans ie Bradley and Trafford where they are coming to be first choice.  Then there are loans of players that aren't quite good enough for their team yet, and they are mainly sent out to get their wage off the books for a year and free up a squad place.  Our version might be Lolos, if he goes to L2 or a L1 relegation struggler, we expect him to play but don't really care if he doesn't.

was half hoping the unnecessary pass at the end would get flagged offside

There is no way we will know how the season is going to work out but I think at least this season the signings are more imaginative than we have seen over the last 2 years.

I said earlier in the thread I was underwhelmed with our signings and that is based on not knowing who most of them are. Having watched the game Saturday we seem to have a structure that is much more suitable to this division and as the new signings bed in with a striker I think there are grounds to be cautiously optimistic. Hopefully the fans will give the team time if not everything clicks at once.

then he can go back

like when we had Bradley and Beck on loan from Liverpool at the same time

Bradley played every game and stayed till the end of the season

Beck didn't get a sniff got sent back in January

Beck just got a new contract at Liverpool!!      And then went on loan to derby

Are hull not under a transfer embargo??

They're not under an embargo as such but they are restricted in transfers which I think means they can't pay a fee

Not sure Dalby came to be playing second fiddle neither.

One is on loan, one isn't.

If, and it's a big if, Kenny comes, then 3 into 1 is going to be interesting.

None of them are in a position where they are going to go to any club and be anointed undisputed starter for the season in July.

23 players made 19 or more appearances for us last season, 24 hit around the 1,000+ minute mark. There are plenty of games to go around and we'll never be in a position where nobody is injured.

Mason and Dalby have combined for a goal every 17 games across their EFL careers so far (118 apps). Kenny has scored once outside LOI. There's an element of risk to all of them, and it's reasonable to assume that one or more won't cut it at this level. It will work itself out who the best one is and gets the most games.

There could also be an option where 2 of the 3 are playing well and one takes the McAtee/Randall position.

I've not seen any of them play but one of them may be capable of playing other positions so it might not be a straight fight of 3 into 1 spot.

Of course it will, though as above, a parent club may be unhappy about the guy not getting the game time they would like.

How that works out, who knows.

If you’re a striker it’s the service that you get that’s key. Neither Dalby nor Burstow would likely score many in an Evatt set up simply because like with Vic, they don’t play to his strengths. This season will be different and with wide players pinging high balls in to them I’d expect both to have much better returns. We won’t be going sideways much this season thank goodness so big men up top will make life much more interesting. If we do sign Kenny too where’s the problem with having 3 good strikers? Most quality teams have 3 or 4 and Bruce certainly did and they all got game time. There will be times when one up isn’t doing it and we’ll need the option to bring on another forward and Kenny sounds a good option to have. Add in injuries and loss of form and 3 is the minimum we’ll need.

Why is anyone bothered about parent clubs and how they think......The facts are the lad from Hull gets the shirt away at Stockport and then it is up to him to keep it.

Barring injuries Crozier-Duberry will start most if not all games.

If either winger gets injured i do not see TuTu or Schon replacing him as a given, we have the flexibility to change formation and go two up top or even a 4/3/3

I will be more than happy if Dalby is not back in the team on his return it will mean we are doing very well

Amy rumours over Dan and Lolos?

Need to get them gone, if just for the money.

Simply, if a player isn't likely to get game time, a parent club may refuse the loan in the first place.

Or, it may make other clubs a touch wary in the future.

Of course the club bringing in the player can't guarantee starts and minutes etc, but it also seems pointless bringing in such a player if you're not using him much.

If a club doesn't bother about the parent club, then you're onto a looser long term.

Then they are not the player for us, Clubs are not wary every club in the bottom two leagues get three or four loans every season

It can work the other way a player plays so well he gets recalled in January leaving the other club needing to start again

Exactly and this could certainly be the case here if Burstow gets off to a roaring start and Hull, as is very likely, are struggling at Christmas. They may well call him back in desperation leaving us without cover if we only have two strikers. Let’s get Kenny in then we’re covered on all fronts.

I'm not entirely sure what I'm basing this on but I reckon Burstow will either have a huge impact for us or practically none at all
