It doesn’t really matter who is the official captain as long as the group work together to agree what needs to be done and they all take responsibility to ensure it happens.

Some teams in Europe formalise it by appointing a captain, vice captain, 3rd captain and 4th captain but I don’t think it’s necessary to go that far as long as the group’s authority is recognised.

Sounds a crazy idea, like too many cooks………….

With a fully fit squad, he wouldn't be in my team, never mind the captain.

I’m fully invested in JDC as captain. One of the more likely outfield players to be in the side every week and hopefully as ever present as usual.

I'm not convinced, but open to being.

As a virtual ever-present in a leaky back 5 last season, there are questions to be answered, plus it remains to be seen how he is as a full back rather than a wing back.

Andy Walker saying Jamie Vardy may go to Celtic that would be another striker for them plus they are looking at city's jahmai Simpson could be good news for us

Would agree. We're not going to have 8 debutants and there's a very good chance he's still the best centre mid at the club.

Did all the media yesterday too, which suggests he's as much a part of the first team as anyone.

Its a small field of players to choose from, that were here the last 2 seasons, and not injured much.  But Morley for me, followed by Tomo.  JDC fully deserved his place in the squad with his reliablility and fitness, but not sure he got much better.

I really dont know what everyone sees in JDC. Lots of whinging, loves pointing at others, give cheap fouls away, couldnt tackle a Sunday dinner, his fitness keeps him in the squad. Could be our weak link this season, as not really sure about is defensive capabilities as a full back, loved to be proved wrong though.

You've got be joking? He's rapid, and one of our most consistent performers since he joined. And he's been shit hot in pre-season playing full back. You don't need to be proved wrong, you're already wrong.

JDC.... I get the idea (from the training vids) that he's quite influential in the squad.. 

Players get a fresh start this season.

New gaffer, style, team mates.

What sets him apart from others is that his pace and running puts doubt in the minds of opposing wide men which forces them deeper. He has the running of a PL player but unfortunately has the defensive capability and end product of a L1 player - but on balance that’s better than the average L1 player in that position.

Given that we’re in L1, what’s not to like?
