New gaffer, style, team mates.

I agree, clean slate for everyone, last season is history.

Hail hail 67 saying BWFC fans “demanding” the club coughs up the million Celtic want for Kenny. News to me.

Bolton not giving up hope on Johnny Kenny transfer

Johnny Kenny has looked electric in pre-season so far and many believe he could be the starting striker this season.

Kenny was wanted by Bolton Wanderers earlier in the window and the possibility of loaning out the Ireland international wasn’t ruled out.

Bolton fans want their club to sign Kenny and have demanded that they pay up the reported £1m asking price to bring him south of the border.

New arrival Shin Yamada impressed in his debut and could be the new third-choice striker, potentially leaving Kenny’s days at the club numbered.

What sets him apart from others is that his pace and running puts doubt in the minds of opposing wide men which forces them deeper. He has the running of a PL player but unfortunately has the defensive capability and end product of a L1 player - but on balance that’s better than the average L1 player in that position.

Given that we’re in L1, what’s not to like?

I just cant get on with his constant whinging, pointing the finger, gives needless free kicks away. His fitness and pace is never in doubt, probably played more games then anyone last season. Lets see what this season brings.

It's all about opinions but I have never noticed him whinging or pointing the finger.

He's one of the most committed pros at the club and, similar to Thomason, eeks out everything he has. We can debate whether that's enough, but attitude is not something I would ever call him out on.

I think it's acceptable for players, just like any workplace employees, to pull others up when they aren't committing to the cause. Are you sure it isn't that he has high expectations and some others don't follow? If so, I'm ok with this.

Watch him on Sunday, you will see it for your own eyes, honestly.  Maybe your last paragraph could be correct, who knows? Not just against his own players, also the ref, but hes not on his own their, and most of the refs in this league deserve a bit of shit sometimes.

I also can't say this is something I have noticed, also not something regularly commented on here when it comes to him. Others it is very obvious.

JDC is fine, he has great fitness and great pace, but has some limitations which is why he is in league 1 with us.

I reckon he could be in consideration for captain and wouldn't have an issue with it. Seems liked in the group and sets a good example with his application and fitness.

Might have limitations, but we're  a league one team with league one players..

😂 You moonman.

Nathan Lowe as signed for Stockport. Great signing that.

That is what I meant, if he didn't have those limitations his stamina and pace would likely see him playing higher. I like him as a player

He scored for fun for Walsall. They were so far ahead in the league it looked like they'd be promoted by March.

He returned to Stoke (who then barely played him) & Walsall went to shit & failed to be promoted.

Complete side note but on Jan 15th Walsall were 14 points clear with a game in hand. Can’t recall any other club blowing up like that in my memory.

 any news on Kenny?

Can’t find the link, but there was interview earlier this month, which stated that two strikers would be brought in by 1st September.

Number one has arrived and I think this statement anticipated that any deal with Kenny would take time; probably while Celtic firmed up their squad.

There are more than four weeks to go before deadline day and, with Burstow and Warren now available, we don’t go into the opening games relying on two youngsters who were in the academy, a couple of months ago.

Dead in the water.

I’ve been really impressed by Warren so far but them who haven’t been to the games seem to think that he can operate as a central striker.

He’s been used as a wide player who can move across the line.

But he ain’t a CF.

It was only last season that his non-league club switched him from CF to right wing. And we’ve already tried him at CF against Orlando Pirates.

I agree his primary role will be as a winger (hence the need for three other 9s) but I think he can do a job at 9. He’s not small, like a many wingers.

Sorry pal, but I was at the game and he didn’t play CF against Orlando.

Big Dave one half and Daeshon the other.

My bad. It was Barrow.

If Kenny's going to happen, and it's a fairly big if for me, it might well be late on in August by the time it gets sorted. Bringing Burstow in has taken some of the pressure away of needing to do it pronto anyway. Hopefully Dalby will be back by the middle of the month and we'll be well set up front, with young Warren not far off being an option when he gets his cast off
