Not sure we'll get Kenny. He'd be an excellent signing for me. Championship ready.

Hopefully , he seems to have figured heavily for them in pre- season which makes me think it will be a loan if anything .

It would be excellent business for me. He’s good enough for Celtic as it is.

Only thing I can think of is if they’re lining up for another striker or two & he’s surplus

If we start this season with Dalby, Warren & Kenny over Collins & Dion. Then that’s some upgrade from this time last year.

 I’ll be giddy

Is it though? No proven goals at this level

I wouldn't be surprised if we signed Hahadme from Charlton, they've got about 10 strikers or something crazy. I was reading their forum and a few of their fans think he'd be perfect for us and could score plenty of goals for us. I don't think the reported 1 million fee they were supposed to have paid is accurate, it's made up of add-ons etc, we could get him very cheap imo.

750 plus add ons seems to be the general number the Charlton lot are saying.    They want shut of the wages, get him for 400,  been looking at his cambridge videos (I know) and he does look like a wingers dream, hold up, uses his head and chest well,   could a plan be to play him and a kenny in the 10 instead of mcatee, randall ?

Could then tout mcatee for sale ,  maybe udders will give us a million .

Why would we play him or Kenny in the 10 role when neither are 10s? We have Mcatee and Randall for the 10. You can't sell someone nobody wants to buy. There is no interest. Mcatee and Randall will be just fine playing off a proper 9.

Don’t ask me to back up my opinion with stats

Unless you want to compare the Irish league to L1. Could bring Toal into the debate 😄

If GA is stalling negotiations with personal terms discussions either he’s another one with a dickhead agent or he’s on such a good deal at Charlton that he might just want to sit out his contract with them on the bench.

For either reason I’d not be interested in the lad, especially as Charlton seem to have overpaid for him in the first place. Surely the only deal we can offer him is if you want to play, accept a pay cut?

Is he though ? If so why are they arguing our offer isn't good enough, rather than 'no thanks' ?

Celtic have money & they buy players, he'll never get to be a regular there.

Yes, the bit about personal terms worries me as well lusty when it’s clear that Charlton don’t want him and he’ll get no game time there. Obviously if there’s a huge difference he’ll dig his heels in but he either wants to play or he doesn’t and it doesn’t look like anyone else is in for him who’d pay more or be a more attractive proposition than us so if he’s stalling then he doesn’t really want to come so move on elsewhere.

He is one year into a 4 year deal......Will be wanting it matched

Move on

Look you're probably all right.

But I really have a feeling that Kenny  (scoring 7 in Europe last season and being Shamrock's young player of the year) is the next Robbie Keane.

Dalby is going to be like having a younger Harry Kane at the Toughsheet

But the star of the show is without a doubt going to be Warren. Who when back, will be smashing them in.

Please don't remember I said any of this if we're tenth in October and not scoring enough goals.

Let’s see shall we…

Imagine you're settled in London on a 4 year deal, and a club up north wants to sign you and uproot you and your family.  On less money, maybe even on a shorter contract.  Its a bit harsh to say "dickhead" for actually discussing personal terms without knowing the first thing about those discussions.  We might be offering him half what he's on, which to use your terms makes us the dickheads.  And that's without the finer detail of promotion bonuses, relegation clauses, goals bonuses etc.  None of us had heard of him till Friday and now we're criticising him that he's not signed yet 😀

Move on

Charlton Athletic have signed striker Gassan Ahadme from Ipswich Town for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old spent last season on loan at Cambridge United, where he scored 13 goals in 33 appearances in all competitions.

Ahadme becomes the Addicks' sixth signing of the summer and manager Nathan Jones described him as a "number one target".

Charlton forums reckon he's number two

Horses for courses innit. He was obviously half decent at Ipswich. Some moves just don't work for some players.

Bet Burton fans loved Big Vic and Barnsley seemed to like McAtee.

See how the lads gets on.

Read it again. I was surmising his agent might be a dickhead as a potential reason for not agreeing terms yet, not him.

We’ve already had one dickhead agent scupper a deal this window.

Also, whilst we’re not criticising him, it would be fair to point out that the cushy contract he’s on at Charlton is a huge stumbling block to a sale.

If this is true, I hope it’s a permanent rather than a loan as a large chunk of what we’d be signing is future potential rather than an immediate ROI.

Anyrode-up, what will be will be.

Definite Etete vibes with this chap.

He signed for a reported £750k 12 months ago. For a combination of injury and a 'personal issue' he started 11 times, sub 8 times, scored once. Was only in the matchday squad 4 times in the final 21 games last season. He's not gone on their pre-season tour this Summer.

Charlton clearly want shut & have a bit of a cheek trying to get their £750k back tbh.

Regarding him, if they're overpaying him & he has 3 years left then I get him wanting to match that but we should only offer what fits. If Charlton want to make some loss up to him that's their business.

He may be a good buy but there's little to suggest so.

... and he's going to be a month of being a bench warmer I'd bet.

I agree on that, hence the agent isn't doing his job if he's not getting the best deal for him within reason.  I know there are the apparent idiots like the Ceesay one and I get what you're saying, but we shouldn't use him as a stick to beat others with.  Ahadme's agent could be the the most reasonable bloke in football but he's got a job to do to justify his salary/cut, just as Fergal's got to fight our corner.
