FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

  • Sure it's that Mandela effect in full flow here that we all seem to be OK with this. It's a fucking travesty and complete shitshow. He's our most prolific striker by a country mile, has been

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

Do we have to rename a stand after him too ?

He wants to come back to the NW so you'd think we would have a chance

He'd scored 41 goals in 205 games before last season.

Are we out of embargo this window ?

Yep.

Perhaps entering his peak age?

Who has he played for previously?

Tranmere and Morecambe

I'm not claiming he's Alan Clarke or Jermaine Defoe, but he's just scored 32 in a season, he's both young AND mature. Out of contract & wants to return to the North West.

He has to be worth a chat.

Obviously is a Chamionship club turned up they may have a jump on us, but otherwise we'd have a chance.

+ Swindon Town. He's a scouser and out of contract with Cambridge.

If he fancies returning to the North West, he might be worth a punt.

I thought that little winger of Crawleys yesterday looked a good player. As for Mullen, if a deal could be done it would certainly be a statement of intent.

Left winger?

Easily their best player.

Young lad who scored against us for Grimsby caught my eye.

Looked a handful. On loan from Fleetwood, 20 year old.

Out of contract, but the club has an option for an extra year. no idea if they are taking it up or not.

That's him. If Dapo goes I'd be happy with him as replacement.

We need to be thinking about players released by championship clubs, not 4th division clubs.

Re: Kieran Lee, Declan John...

Should be looking up at championship players who haven’t been getting regular football.

Re: Kieran Lee, Declan John...

We just had a lad who was playing jumpers for goalposts getting rave reviews ( take a bow GT). It doesn't matter where they come from, it's where they take us.

After January's showing am more than confident in IE and FV to identify and bring in what we need to compete

Agreed but we shouldn’t sell ourselves short.

I love GT to bits and hopefully we’ll grab a few more hidden gems like him. Can’t wait for our friendly at Longridge.

There's a role for Gilks, Baptiste and Doyle next year, but these 3 positions we should be looking upwards for.   Plenty of clubs above us will still be having cash flow problems and be shedding quality Div 1 level players.  Happy to pick up good young guns from League 2 and below though.

In terms of the profiles of players we want (as opposed to the positions that need strengthening) I think we need a mixture. We certainly need to avoid the moneyball signing of unprovens like last Summer (Comley, Greenidge, Taft, Gordon).

Some good loans from the top two divisions, some proven talent from the upper echelons of League 1 and maybe cream off a couple of the best players from League 2 in 20/21 (if available).

I hope we can spend fees and make a couple of investments too.

Exciting stuff. Not been able to have these types of conversations for quite some time!

Gilks would be a good keeper on the bench............Employed as a coach so a duel purpose role saves a wage

Baptiste again a decent sub and one who deserves another year

Doyle needs competition but will get goals in lge 1

Evatts signings are a class above Phoenix NIGHT mares

Just read that halfalion is out of contract in June.   Good freebie methinks.

Yeah, Declan John too. Would be great to keep both.

Declan John has taken "Swansea City" out of his twitter bio - now just says Bolton Wanderers. Could be reading too much into it as he's out of contract there but could be a hint that he's staying. Wouldn't be any big surprise if he does sign back.
