Redcliffe also has form re thomasson

Not as barmy as horwich tbf

Aye barmy.  You have to give young players like Senior and Thomason time to develop before writing them off.  They are both improving all the time and their attitude and commitment deserves a lot of credit.

I thought Senior handled himself pretty well at Rotherham given the circumstances, can't say I see anything in Brockbank though.

Right back would not have been my priority if Jones is nearly back.

Senior was targeted and exposed on Saturday. Their right winger also had John pretty easily a few times.

Can we just sign a midfield bastard please ?

Hes no world beater and probably never will be but theres no rush to be writing him off

Aye.

Thomason was written off as a pub player by Horwich last season.

I hope he continues to write players off, as Thomason is proving him wrong.

"If you're good enough, you're old enough" or to quote Mike Bassett, "if you're old enough, you're good enough".

Brockbank & Senior aren't good enough, national league at best.

Thomason, lads doing very well, got a good range of passing but lacks a bit of pace.

As a younger player, he still has time to become good enough. And even if he turns out not to be for us, then a bit of development should yield some money from a lower placed team.

We have to become sustainable remember, which means selling players at times.

Well we’re off to a great start to the window, potentially 2 exciting additions.

If he gets injured again?

Full back is massive in the way we play

Very demanding

Yep, last season both Jackson and John pushed each other on at LB.

Our ineffectiveness at RB has proper affected our game plan since Jones’ absence.

The new campo fucks beckham off for us

Been saying it for ages we need a midfielder who can get stuck in and bollock others not pulling there weight

The reason it it not a priority for me is that if he does not injured we are ok, central midfield we are not. Of course having cover is good but think we have gaps to fill first.

And Crawford off the books as well today so hopefully bit more room financially

If there's a Karl Henry type out there he'd make a huge difference.

Says in Bolton news he is coming to the end of is contract . On there it says he signed a long term deal there in the summer 🤷‍♂️

I read ".... he signed a new contract at Fulham lasting until the summer of 2023 last year" on a Fulham page.

The more ball we have, the less we need a destroyer

Which i think will be evatts view

A proper centre back is a must for me, especially if johnston is now seen as midfield

However

Whatever we get will do for me as im confident we will get better players in each window

There's been times this season we've needed an Abdullah Faye or Henry. It does bring something. Could be a red but you know what I mean.

Id happily have a faye

One of my favourites of the allardyce era

Im just saying that if i was betting an internet tenner, it wouldnt be on us signing a fairly limited tackling machine

If he can find one who can pass like mj, that a different matter

MJ is a bit of both he gets stuck in & he can play too but he does have a lot of work to get through on his own he's the entire glue. Lee & Sheehan as good as they don't like the midfield battles, Thomason does & gets stuck in but still learning. An experienced shithouse to pair with MJ in a double pivot would be a good option, bringing a 10 in is paramount in my eyes though... can't be having Del filling in their to touch the ball 7 times in 90

That’s how I see it, each window we will get stronger, that is the direction of travel.  It was a big job when he came in and mistakes have been made with transfers. IE is getting more right than wrong though and after next Summer I believe we will be top six material in this league.

I’m sure a midfielder will be the next one in. We do need cover for Jones though and whilst other positions are more urgent this should allow IE to bring him back gently rather than risk playing him too much straight away.

Evatt in the Bolton news says 3 more signings on the radar… all for cash.

He also stated they would be young but I’d rather one at least is experienced, preferably a CH to guide and mentor Rico who has missed the Gilks effect this year.

We aren't getting money for Senior or Brockbank.

And you know this how?

They may be kept, they may be released at the end of their contract, or someone may come in with an offer.

None of us know.

Like it of not, we are now in the business of bringing players on and selling them.
