if you believe hes off to fulham - i dont - then you must think hes going to be on the edge of playing in the prem

therefore, losing him is not 'no problem'

i take zicos point thats hes struggled as a '10' hence why id like to see him tried up top, off the iceman

did he play central v sunderland?

we will not get somebody as good as him for the money we get for him, cos 3 (say) million pound players arent signing for us at the moment

Nah he won’t go fulham

Hes not prem standard.

I agree. I think he'd have some learning to do - even in the Championship. He's bags of potential though.....

From what I've seen, there's no way Dapo is making the big time at Fulham. Could be wrong and he could take the prem by storm, but I don't see it.

On that basis, I don't see how it would be a good move for him. Unless hes happy to warm the bench and take the money.

When I watch Fulham he looks like a weak link, defensively.  Not great in the air, weak in the challenge admittedly against some quality championship strikers, seems to get caught out of position a lot, or flat footed.  A neat footballer and would be perfect against poorer sides on good pitches (an upgrade on Johnstone with his extra pace) but he wouldn't help in those muck and nettles away games when its about physicality, which is the area IE will be looking to improve.

Reminds me alot of Declan John!

Well, they gave us £6m for Madine anout 4 years ago. So Dapo HAS to be worth £48m min.

Be gutted if ANY of the current bunch leaves in the summer. Can't blame the owners if it happens though. That's where we are now. Moneyball. Just got to trust that Evatt and his team have some more good uns lined up.

Aye, Isn't this his first proper full season of pro league football too. Plenty of room to grow in the right circumstances. Don't think age is that relevant with him like most late starters

I think he's improved with his vision/awareness and finds teammates well now.

Still drifts in and out of games though, and seems to be a confidence player.

He needs to improve consistency if he is to play at a very high level. Late starter or not, it's only division 3 football and not many go via the Vardy route.

Obviously though, we all hope he succeeds, and ideally with us

I think anything north of £3 million and we'd snatch their hands off.

And maybe even lower than that!

You'd always hope for more!

Outside the prem, not sure that there are loads of clubs capable of chucking a lot of cash about now unfortunately (fortunate for the game as a whole perhaps).

One the subject of Jack Iredale who we're linked with- seems he's a left back, so that would put pressure of Declan John and Johnston.

Wonder if he can play on the left of a three? Like Gethin but on the other side?

My thoughts too. GJ has been a bit mixed this season so maybe.

Seems that the pies are interested in him too, so quite possible that the championship will be a bigger lure.

Part of me thinks that if any of them leave for big money in the summer then it shows how well our recruitment and transfer policy is working. Particularly if it's Dapo or Santos who both came on a free, and I doubt have been on daft wages.

It's the only way we're ever going to compete barring some oil baron bankrolling us. I think we might need to get used to judging signings on their buying and selling value - just as much as how they perform on the field in the next few years......?

Think I read somewhere he’s quite versatile can play CB LB CM

Yeah maybe - I'm not so sure though. I think we're quite an attractive proposition at the moment. It just depends on his character I guess?

Absolutely.

Couldn't blame him for fancying a do higher up, but balance that with a progressive, modern leadership team and all round cracking, honourable lady as opposed to a dirty camel bummer and a handful of fans.

Course not

We just scour the leagues for another one that's gone under the radar

I've read that about Iredale. Primarily an LB but he's played CB in a 3-5-2 and (more interestingly) CB in a 4-4-2. Not sure he'd be the commanding central defensive presence we require but a player of that profile is far from the only defensive addition we need.

For a free transfer, anywhere above 3 million is a decent deal. I think we could haggle for 4-7 million for Dapo, in the right circumstances.

However, the gamble is whether you try and keep him for another 2-3 years, and leave enough contract time remaining that someone is willing to buy him for 10m+, assuming he keeps improving.
