To be honest, I think his future might ultimately be in non-league.

I agree. He’s poor, not Greenidge level but he’s not a league player for me.

He'll end up at a bottom half L1 or top half L2 side

I'd be surprised if he got an EFL club.  Done OK, but there were plenty left backs we came up against in Lge 2 that imposed themselves on games a lot more, stronger and with a better passing range.  Wouldn't be surprised to see him back at Dagenham if their manager is still there.

I think LB is a position we’ll go and strengthen

Agreed.

I think Gordon has put in some shifts this season and deserves some respect for that ... and seems to have Evatt's. If we're looking to progress, however, we will see him as someone to release & replace with better.

He'll leave on good terms & get a go with a Div.4 side, or Morecambe which is more or less the same thing.

His position is the first I’d change. Someone to challenge Declan John

1. keep Santos/Dapo.

2. Re-sign Fossey and Trafford.

3. sign a competitive left back and centre half

That would be as successful a window as I could hope for.

Anything on top of that is a bonus.

Yep - Baptiste, Tutte and Gordon all replaced with like for like upgrades as a certainty.

Great position to be in considering where we were not that long ago

Agreed. If we sort them 3 signings, get Fossey and Trafford (or equivalents) and keep who we want to keep, we won’t be very far away at all.

I still think there’s improvement from Johnston, Morley and Bod to come yet too. Add Dempsey and Sheehan who we haven’t seen the best of yet and I’m really looking forward to next season.

Might have a fiver on 100 points, 100 goals

There's more to come from Charles & Bakayoko too IMO.
Dion had no pre-season and hadn't played any football for months, so looked like running on empty later in games. Baka had several injury issues and should be a right handful when fully fit.

JDB is key for me next season the guy ooze’s quality and is getting better

Technically, probably the best we've got. He reads the game so well.

Not disagreeing at all, but it shows the gulf ahead of us. He was a spare at Millwall when we signed him.

Remember another striker signed from Millwall in similarish circumstances who turned out alright.

Indeed & his goalkeeper pal, signed by their former manager.

Previously he was decent at championship level for Reading. Millwall just didn’t work out for whatever reason.

Conversely, it shows we have a great recruitment/coaching system that is able to single out players who are not performing to their full potential elsewhere, then bring them here and polish them into absolute gems.

I had a look at the millwall forum when we signed him.
They were giving him dogs abuse, “good riddance, get him off the payroll” all this , I thought fuckin hell who have we signed. Then I had a look at his stats 28 year international with 60 caps.

Even more reason to trust our coaches and board.

I wish we had Evatt and his staff on a contract as long as Big Sam's was. Long-term faith required. Obviously far more difficult to get that at this level though.

Wasn’t it both goalkeepers? Davidson getting selected before Branagan?

I know I could Google this and find out but I’m on the piss😎

Davidson joined us in 1993, Branagan in 1992.

Branny played 214 league games for us between 1992-2000, Davidson 37, between 1993-97.

But yes. 2 keepers from there.

Sorry my post could have been clearer.

Whilst at Millwall was Davidson the preferred keeper?
