We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

  • Like when we went up from league 2, we needed tried and tested players from that specific division/level to deal with the task in hand. Doyle and Sarcs etc. We need exactly the same in this divis

He's 24/25 so not a kid, was below average in a League One team that got relegated in 2022, who has gone on to be decent a League Two team that was 5 points away from being relegated out of the football league. Where is the appeal? I can understand it if we were still trying to get out of League Two but does anyone on here think this is the sort of player that would help get us promoted?

I think its unlikely we are interested in him

But only cos hes currently playing in division 4

I know balls all about him

If we signed him id think we had seen something to improve us

The division you're playing in tends to correlate to a players ability, there are obviously hidden gems like Santos but it's fairly rare in the grand scheme of things.

I don't think there are many players in League 1 better than what we currently have have, we're probably in the top 10 for many positions, the issue is that our competition for those 2 automatic promotion places is fierce. Some teams have 5/6 players in that top 1/2 for their respective positions. Who do we have that can compete with Andy Carroll for Reading? because at this level he's going to be looking like a worldie.

Think they will be on quite the rebuild.

With funds available being talked about I’d expect them to be going for the league title

With a manager who knows how to get out the league like they do and budget likely available, anything less than top 2 would probably be seen as failure.

We need to hit the ground running if we want to compete with them

The keeper who was on loan at Barnsley has been released by Luton.

Made some great saves in the play off final

jack colback and lyle taylor ben released from forest could do a job for us,but more likely to end up in championship

Indeed.

A replacement for Lee then perhaps.

Similar player to Lee. Suppose it would be an upgrade if only because he's younger, can manage 90 minutes and has a decent shot on him but I'd prefer better - I guess we're cutting our cloth etc...

I hope he factors into his calculations the FA Cups we won before Hitler came to power

That should swing it in our favour

He'll also want to check how many exercise bikes and ice baths our training ground has compared to Barnsley

Just watched the 42 McCauley Langstaff goals for Notts County last year and whilst you’d have to question the defences he faced he certainly looks a talent but it was also interesting to see how well Adam Chicksen played for them. I was disappointed we let him leave but he seems to have found a good home at County.

I see that Victorian Plumb are Skem based that'll go down well with the Tic Toc natives who work for them. :)

Isn't/hasn't he gone to Derby as part of the McGoldrick deal?

Nothing confirmed on that but DM is a lifelong County fan and has been offered a 2 year deal there but only 1 year at Derby.
