He also turned Manure down to sign for Brighton which makes him more likeable.

Lets have a scum free zone this season please.

He’s only played 9 pro games and they were at Crewe, a big risk in my opinion, if he turns out another crellin then our automatic play offs could be over pretty quick, surely we can purchase a good experienced solid pro.

I'm with you on this. Our keeper doesn't need to be a future world beater. He needs to be solid and decent with the ball at his feet. And a bit of experience wouldn't go a miss either.

We got very lucky with Trafford in my opinion.

I think Carl Rushworth is the Brighton goalie we may be after. He played 42 games on loan at Lincoln last year and has played for England U21s. Local (ish) from Halifax.

May is off to Charlton

I think that’s the most likely destination as he’s keen to get back nearer his roots and extended family so who could blame him? In fact there were also stories about Gillingham taking him even closer to “home” but I really can’t see that one flying.

Was Traff experienced ? I'll trust Evatt and the scouting department.

What’s wrong with promoting Luke Hutchinson to backup, surely he’s proved himself by now rather than bring in another young loan player from somewhere else to develop? If we can’t use our own then what’s the point in having them?

Except him and the Scouting Dept. brought us Crellin & Dixon.

Well done on Traff. but there are many capable, experienced keepers available out of contract or minimal fees.

I'm not going to slate Evatt for getting Crellin in. We were in L2, we needed a new team and Gilks recommended him.

We are a different animal now in every department

I'm not going postal on Evatt, far from it, but Crellin, with no back up was the main reason why we were 22nd that Christmas. Giles wasn't immediately fit.

It was a huge error & omission.

Gilks was immediately fit. He hadn’t expected to be playing and therefore hadn’t negotiated an appearance fee.

That was when we had Tobias Phoenix or whatever he was called making the decisions… by the January he’d been canned and Evatt started making the recruitment decisions…

I think Crellin was a Gilks recommendation

Nothing to do with Phoenix (who,as you imply, was shit)

Santos was a Phoenix suggestion, makes his time here successful for me

Get Tobias back and sack the guy who recommended the January failures

To be fair Dixon wasn’t actually that bad the first few months of the first season. But went to pot when he lost his confidence… and never regained it. Shocking whenever he’s played in the last 18 months mind

Dempsey wasn’t great after signing in Jan previous season until he had a proper pre season and learnt what Evatt actually wanted from him. This season he has been superb. I’m not writing off Adeboyejo etc yet.

It was meant to be a joke but hopefully your right and Randell and Adeboyejo will come good; to fail to Randell Williams he hasn’t been too bad

Yeah I got that… I didn’t think you meant you actually want Phoenix back haha. I think Randell will be first choice next season. I can see John being moved on. He has his moments especially going forward but he must drive Evatt mad with his tracking back. He’s just not an Evatt player

Well, I wasn't there, but I'd dispute that. Not match fit for about a month after they gave up on Crellin.

That's what surprised me most about the Williams signing, stands out like a sore thumb in this team that he's not an IE-type player.  Iredale's back now so I'm less concerned about that position for the foreseeable.

I meant John yeah. I think Williams is an Evatt player… he can run all day. He needs to improve his final ball and decision making but I think Evatt can improve him. Really interested to see what he’s like after a proper pre season.

I think Iredale may end up at left centre back if we lose Johnston this summer. There was interest in Jan and I think we may end up cashing in if we get a decent offer. But I have no problem with Iredale in the team at wing back for the games against the better teams in the division especially away from home. Gives us a bit more stability.

Apologies I've read it back, my mistake.

I think they are both poor defensively, but John's decent going forward and Williams is severely lacking, for me.  But we all have different opinions on players.

I expect Iredale to be left back in most games, injuries permitting.  I don't see him as a centre back personally except as cover, and I don't expect Johnstone to be leaving either, he's good but not so good anyone's going to offer enough to tempt a sale.  All guesswork though, a long way to go.

Agree  Mitov at Cambridge and the Orient keeper are both available much safer options

[pardon the pun]
