No apologies from her for the people who've died been maimed and the women who have been raped, does she think she's the queen? A new year speech FFS. It would be better if she had resigned given what she has inflicted on Germany and the wider European community.

Merkel didn't kill anyone so not sure why you're asking her to apologise and resign. If anything Merkel did what many other leaders refused to do and offered refuge to hundreds of thousands persecuted people who were desperate to escape the horrors of their homeland. Admittedly a few radicalised nutters slipped through the net but you can't blame Merkel for that. Don't you have any have any compassion at all?

My take on this thread is that folk want to help asylum seekers, regardless of colour, but doing so in the way Germany have is questionable and has possibly allowed, or made it easier, for a small minority, to take advantage and murder innocents.

 

The above policy is open to debate as far as I see it, which is what folk seem to be doing.

 

Why it has to get reduced to a racist debate all the time is frankly, a bit boring.

 

As Smiffs points out above when something bad happens at the other side of the world we generally don't give as much of a fcuk - it's human nature.  Do we jump on a ban selling guns in the USA every time a mentalist/attention seeker decides to mow don half a shopping centre or school?   Did Syrians mourn the victims of Lockerbie?  They must be racist then, yes?!

 

Also, our own media don't really paint or portray a true reflection of what happens out there so it's hard to really see what's going on and hence it gets less public attention.
