Best game I've seen Madine play. Clough useless. Henry played well too but missed the best game of the match.

Honestly I cannot remember a time madine didn't win it and give the ball to one of our players.

 

Even when he looks like he has it stuck under his feet he still ended up digging it out and getting it to one of our players

 

Maybe once he didn't fly into a tackle and fryers just slid to to one of ours and we broke.

We gave Palace a bit too much respect in the first 20 - 30 mins but otherwise we played very well and should really have won. Alnwick and the back 4 were superb. Spearing bossed the midfield, Henry finally looks like the player I thought he was and Madine had his best game in a Bolton shirt.

 

I'm a bit torn who I'd say was our best player - probably Spearing though. I thought Cloughy had the beating of his full back every time too but didn't want to do it too often. He's a bit wasted out wide left though, if we are to get the best out of him, he needs to play up top and I'm not convinced he's that good.

 

Good to see Clayton get a few more minutes and get up from a clattering with no ill effects too
