We have done big drives / touring the last two years, America in 2015 & Europe in 2016 for our honeymoon - would recommend it highly, you can get across the channel in no time for peanuts then drive round France, Italy, Spain etc - we love exploring like that

First nipper due next month so we are having to do it differently this year I.e go to a a hotel and stay there. Will need a Sherpa to bring all the baby gear ffs

Mallorca in May for a week for a mates wedding then Barbados in November

Never done Barbados so if anyone has any advice it's very welcome (Staying at the Hilton in Bridgetown). 18 months worth of Hilton honours points gone into this so it best be decent

You've got a cracking beach at the Hilton mate.

Places to go are obviously Oistins on the Friday for the Fish Fry Festival....try saying that when you're pissed.

I've been several times, get on the number 11 mini buses which actually stop and ask if you want to get on, they cost approx 50p in English money no matter if you're getting off the next stop or going round the entire island. They're a great experience mixing with the locals.

I walked it from the Hilton along the beach and Boardwalk down to St Lawrence Gap, approx 4 miles but plenty of watering holes on the way.

St Nicholas Abbey is well worth a visit, beautiful building and part of a working distillery.

Harrison's Cave Is superb and well worth a look.

Lucky men on the beach selling aloe vera, excellent stuff, only time I've ever bought anything off anybody on a beach.

The Boatyard and Harbour Lights are pretty near your hotel, loud and touristy but a good laugh nonetheless.

You'll love it mate.

Good summary miamiwhite. I've been 4 time and got married to Priscilla there. I just love the place. Hire a jeep and wonder over to the Atlantic coast which is total contrast to the West Coast. Enjoy mate

Doing a train trip this year, fly into Brussels then get on the rattler to Bacharach in the Rhine Valley. From there off to Baden-Baden, Lake Constance, Vienna, Salzburg, Innsbruck and Interlaken before flying home from Geneva.

Fancy Lanzarote in March but struggling to fit it in around football, too many games I want to go to. Will hopefully have a few days in NYC or Vegas if a decent fight comes up around September time otherwise it could be a week in Portugal

Mrs ST and I are off to Lanzarote in 2 weeks and at flights @ £58 return each and the whole week for two us costing less than £350 (ecxl food n drinks) then its a no brainer. AirBnB is the future

That is good value, though we hopefully have got a decent deal.£890 all inclusive .

Which means I can still have a wander about and grab a refreshing beer anywhere that grabs me eyeballs.

it'll be a different experience to what you'd normally expect with a 9 month old in tow

That train trip sounds right up my street, never thought about doing it all on rail but I'd imagine mainland Europe is well connected

Good work

Must admit we are concerned about the flight. The alternative's for winter sun were Dubai or Egypt (fucking hate the place after getting food poisoning on my only visit)

We thought fuck it, for an extra couple of hours on the plane we might as well bite the bullet. It's an 11 night trip so we have recovery time in between the flights from hell
