I know where that is - not far from here, it's Downe Village, just outside the local pub. Downe House where Darwin lived is just to the right. Usually drive up for a couple of pints when the weather is nice for a bit of countryside - some decent little walks round there. Think he was born there as well. Can't say I've ever seen the massive plank.

An article about preparation for a court case. Lawyers doing their bit. Nothing like inflating a story with a twist along the way to present a picture beyond reality. In a few years NI can vote to get rid of it all; by the time legal stuff has been completed and implications considered etc, the vote will be much closer. Surely your beloved EU will be aware of that and will want to help get the protocol working well and for the benefit of all and therefore remain in place? The eu agreed to the protocol and its current form implementation. so did this current British government The eu would be happy if it was followed as agreed the government don’t seem to want to even though they agreed it it seems following concerns/ protests from DUP that’s not a pro eu statement, that’s just seems to be the situation so can understand the frustration with it from the EU

However, the link wasn't about that- just the court case and the initial steps. I do find it strange that given the uk's flexibility at the time of change, with regards to not requiring immediate following of all rules for importers isn't mentioned when remainers seek to make a point. We have helped a lot of EU and UK businesses acclimatise. Doesn't seem to be being replicated by those across the sea, but that's their prerogative. They can't get their own members to implement rules equally across the board, making for more problems. No doubt the protocol isn't great, and we all know the reasons for its being, but refusing to enter meaningful dialogue doesn't help anyone. It will he gone in its current form within a few years anyway.

What do you think will replace the current format ? genuine question as I think it will go around and around this

If neither side is particularly interested, then it's a non story. They agreed another route, which is subject to disquiet. Maybe they should have explored a more technological solution 🤔 Not arsed particularly- they'll sort something out sooner or later. Must actually thank the EU for not renewing further orders for the AZ vaccine- perhaps they'll stop meithering for the stuff from these shores now. Hypocritical twats. Interesting that within a few days of that, it's announced that the Pfizer vaccine can now be stored in a normal fridge for 31 days.

You do know that the "Scots" are predominantly Irish don't you? As in most of those North of the border are your pikeys, red heads etc. History shows much migration, particularly during food shortages. True Scots tended to have darker hair apparently, but those invaders from the emerald Isle took all their jobs etc. Maybe we need a complete reset, send all red headed folk to Ireland and replace them with Britishers.
