Hey if RW wants to start quoting the loony left fringe like the Newham independents so be it.

Not be long before he's on a free Palestine march.

One week I’m  following some nutter right wing accounts other weeks it’s the “loony left” 😂 it’s the context. Theres plenty of Labour supporters on these platforms saying the same, but hey they will probably be classed as loony left now.

It's fair to point out with the amount of U turns Starmer has made.

It makes you look like a bit of a sausage to brush them under the rug

The old adage to become leader by appealing to the party, you become PM by appealing to the people spring to mind.

Give me a pragmatist rather than a slave to ideology any day of the week.

So you can just make shit up like 40 hospitals and that's all fine, but the opposition party drops a pledge due to lack of money and they are jumped on.

Aye OK, that makes sense. 🤨

It’s not fine though is it, and it’s been brought up dozens of times on here (probably by spider alone). Are the Labour Party not allowed to be criticised?

Exactly my point good sir, when entrenched the end of the margins always meet.

I’ve only ever voted labour once, by the way.

But the sheer scale of fucking about the Tories have done for 14 years makes them unelectable.

There should be no reward for failure. A true Tory value of ever there was one.

Dentist on newcast explains the problem - its not something I was hugely aware of in terms of how Dentists get paid for NHS work.

Paddy touched on it last night. But basically all dentists have contracts for NHS work. They do say 1000 ‘units’ a year which will equate to say 200 patients. Working off an average of 2 check ups and resultant treatments. If they do more than 1000 units they do not get paid anymore, if they do less it is clawed back. This leaves them a set amount of time for non NHS work. One of the issues with the contracts is that as you say they get paid per treatment so 1 filling is same pay as 5. So taking on extra NHS work earns them nothing.

Now these contracts were introduced by Blair but have not been properly updated for years. This rests solely with the Govt, the Tory on QT acknowledged last night the work needed doing. It is an area that has just been neglected for years. Again was mentioned last night that despite all the bluster on the subject and the financial mess they underspent in this area by over £400m last year.

My last job was working for a medical/dental indemnity business who along with the GDC have been lobbying for years for action and fuck all happened, gradually situation has got worse till it reached breaking point. Dentists are hardly the most radical group.

I think you make a fair point in that he has made quite a few. I would expect some firm commitments once we get into election season.

Of course they are and they have made some u-turns or dilutions of policies for sure, but they aren't the ones in control.

And it’s surely not the best way of getting in control is it? Making dozens of broken promises before they even get in the hot seat.

From my experience, no. They are going to be the next government but people on here get upset when they are criticised. Personally, I’d like to know what’s coming. Not everyone thinks the same.

Indeed - also didn't realise that we do have enough dentists in the country it's just the system that needs changing.

Did think it was a bit odd though that he said his old fella pulled his teeth out with pilers a few years ago. Surely, given his money he could have paid for private health dental treatment. Seemed a bit man of the people for me. Although he came across better than I thought he would after his opening joke which was a bit wince inducing.

Anyway, feel a bit odd as I registered yesterday and got my first check up on the 6th March. The dentist is a woman from Poland - bloody immigrants, coming over here, fixing our teeth.

Of course they are. Like both major parties they have a huge range of opinions. I stopped paying my subs as soon as Corybn came to be leader. Utterly useless, allowed anti semitism to grow, anti the EU and a hopeless leader.

I certainly didn't double down and defend their policies and didn't vote for them.during this period as the right wing of the Labour party was totally shut down and just allowed an incompetent Conservative government to come into power.

If Labour had presided over the last 14 years there would be no way they would be getting my vote and I certainly wouldn't be defending them.

When you repeatedly go back on your pledges/commitments it makes you seem untrustworthy.

And people will stop believing them in the first place.

There's a pattern here. And it's not a positive one 🤷‍♂️
