Well, this whole dentist problem we're having. Thought I'd best get a check up as its been nearly 9 years, phoned my local dentist.

'Are you taking on NHS patients?'

'Yes.'

'Oh. Thanks.'

'We'll book you in for a check up at the end of the month.'

'Great.'

I was shocked given how bad some people are saying it is - I guess its in particular areas, or I might have just got lucky.

You don't live in the North anymore.

I was just listening on Newscast which promted me to phone - they said its bad everywhere, better in Scotland apparently - due to dentists being paid per filling rather than in one lump sum for all the work, apparently

Anyway - quick look and this article seems good -https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-11719101/How-bad-NHS-dentistry-crisis-area.html

Seems the east of the country is pretty bad. So in comparision Bromley has 4,405 for every one dentist, Bolton 6,579

You are lucky. There is a shortage of dentists nearly everywhere. Most dentists in their 50s can’t wait to get out early as NHS quotas are growing and the fees they receive are completely  inadequate to cover time/resources.

Still waiting to get a dentist, about 12onths after putting myself on loads of waiting lists.

Don't get why Dentists don't work like opticians where every dentist will take NHS free prescription patients for check ups then maybe a voucher towards any treatment dependent on the patients needs.

Dentist on newcast explains the problem - its not something I was hugely aware of in terms of how Dentists get paid for NHS work.

Let’s be honest we’re pretty similar to America at the minute. Of All the millions of people  in the country the best we can produce are Rishi and Kier. Both full of shit.

At long last, you denounce your love for Trump. Well done.

When those trying to defend the indefensible realise they cant anymore, its the same old 'yeah, well everyone is just shit.'

A tale as old as time, playground level stuff.

And you represent them 😂😂 cringe

Labour have backtracked because it’s obvious that the money isn’t going to be there.

I wonder why that is?

Interesting on QT last night that there seemed to be broad support for some sort of political honesty - cash isn't going to be there, so we can't do it.

It's slightly more refreshing than doubling down on nonsense policies for ideological reasons.

It’s all most sensible people want.

And they have explained that alternative measures will be undertaken.

Bear in mind I have a vested interest in renewable energy so Labour’s manifesto on this is key for me.

The Tories can say what they like, I no longer trust a single word they utter.

It's been handled badly in that they shouldn't have gone so hard and heavy on it at the time. But like most sensible people, they've realised it's just not going to be feasible at this point and as you say, an alternative timetable.offered.

It's not ideal, but it's realistic and a bit boring - I think that's what most people seem to want now - not fire and brimstone terrace showboating from the back of lecterns. Just basic policy work.

It wasn’t there last year.
They haven’t a clue but no one wants to acknowledge it. Cue ‘but they can’t be worse’ etc.etc.
RW makes a fair point. The choices are poor but no one wants to talk about Labour. A case of ‘deniable accountability’
