The warnings of absolute chaos were based on us leaving without a deal in March last year, which was a very real prospect at the time. Fortunately, we will spend the next 11 months remaining in the EU, but having zero input. What happens after that will only become clearer at the end of the year. Reverse, reverse, fucking reverse. Pathetic! Edited January 29, 2020 by Mounts Kipper Quote
Spider Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 Fishing. That was an oft-quoted part of “getting back what is rightfully ours”. Can the class explain to a thickie like me what we will get back after Brexit please. Ta Quote

Come on, what constitutes a good deal for our fine, hard working trawlerlads? They've said for years that the europeans have been taking too much, is that about to end? Or will Boris sell them out? I genuinely don't know the numbers. Quote

I reckon it's almost inevitable that some concessions will be given over fishing rights. A cuttlefish vendor yesterday saying nearly everything he lands goes abroad so needs a good arrangement. Plenty of other fish also goes abroad. It does allow us to set quotas, introduce more fishing free zones, scrap dumping of by-catch or whatever. As for Pollock, it's a perfectly acceptable alternative to for, particularly for chippy type stuff in batter. Quote

Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 Nigel having a flag waving rant in the EU parliament. Not allowed to wave flags apparently. I didn't realise that the EU haven't actually ratified the withdrawal agreement yet; vote happening imminently. No deal still on the cards? Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 (edited) Sinn Fein MEP, other cheek of SNP arse. Funny how Sinn Fein and SNP put their faith in the EU, the same EU who do not support Catalans rights to be independent. Edited January 29, 2020 by Mounts Kipper Quote

Mcguiness stony faced cutting him off was graceless, surely better to smile let him rant and wish him and the UK the very best. Edited January 29, 2020 by Mounts Kipper Quote

He’s about to become unemployed, one last ditch bid for a job with ITV innit? If he had any class, he would make a short speech saying he’s won. There’s no need for a pitch invasion from the frog faced shitstack. Quote

In all honesty I think his rant was unnecessary. I found it a bit childish and triumphalist. He's made his/our point, several times over. Winding folk up now, prior to new negotiations isn't helpful neither. Quote
