Spider Posted April 25, 2021 Posted April 25, 2021 Yeah but he’s funny with amusing hair and that. I imagine Bojo was thrust forward as leader as he appeals to Generation Social Media. The 1922 committee probably just thought surrounding him with competent generals and characters who could actually do a decent job would make it worthwhile. Unfortunately, cronyism seems to have come first and now the trough has been well and truly emptied. The visionaries saw this of course, and now prefer to describe it as standard behaviour, to be expected, let’s move on because it is what it is. The vaccine 👍 Everything else 🤔 2/10 Quote

Brexit, BLM, Immigration, and many other topics, the Labour Party are so far away from the regular working class man & family it’s frightening. Edited April 25, 2021 by Mounts Kipper Quote

Just look at areas such as Leigh, Stoke and other working class areas in the midlands and north that have fallen into the hands of the Tories, safe to say Labour don’t speak for many of the the old traditional working class voters. You really think those areas got fucked over by Labour ? For a start, the Conservatives have been in power for the last 11 years, and their industries got shut down in the 80s by the Conservatives under Thatcher. Quote

Labours policies don’t resonate with many working class folk in these areas. It’s that simple. Labour is sadly for the few not the many. Quote

Under Labour there was a planned programme of pit closures, supported by inward investment into the areas. This included retraining. Thatcher accelerated the closures and reduced/stopped the investment. They basically abandoned these areas. Thatcher hated the Unions and had seen what they had done to earlier Govts, she set out to break that power and did so. That is all political history, if you think it was right or wrong to do it will depend on your political inclination. Personally I think something had to happen re the power of the unions (and their inherent corruption) but Thatcher did it with no concern and thought for rest of the communities. Quote
