jmjhb Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 ULEZ hardly a national issue though? Means next to nothing in the context of a GE Quote

Farrelli Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 I think the Selby and Somerset results are more telling of the national picture. Quote

It's really unpopular with the older tory lot of which there are many in these areas. However, the Selby result just shows that basically the Conservatives are out at the next election. That's an 18% swing. Nationwide they are completely fucked. Quote

Must be populated by a right set of bellends. Same in Bromley. These are still the Thatcher heartlands (so much so here is where Thatcher retired to in a gated community which is now filled with retired footballers), a mix of older city people and 'new money' of builders etc who have done really well financially. Also they have done very, very well out of the London property boom so many are sat on million plus houses by dint of doing nothing. Every other car is a range rover that's been overfinched. It's like Cheshire but on speed. And right next to poorer areas, which here is Lewisham and Croydon, which they don't like. They are car addicted and they really hate Kahn. In fact, not sure why half the board don't move here - they'd have a ball! Edited July 21, 2023 by Not in Crawley Quote
