public transport up north is fucking awful. Attempts have been made to get people on their pushbikes but the roads are a mess and as soon as any actual bike lanes are put up, local residents act like spoiled brats because “they’re an eyesore”. Fucking diddums.

The Metro in manchester is decent but for suburban towns like Bolton it’s a case of Fuck Em.

It's a joke, the current government like us fighting over Brexit and immigration as then we forget about holding them.to account about the real stuff like transport.

I'd be ranging if I was back home that I'd need to drive everywhere or commute like cattle.

All the arguments are the same stuff thrown around years ago when the Tories insisted GM had a congestion charge if it wanted investment money for public transport.

The electorate rejected it and so public transport fell even further behind London as the government had an excuse not to pay up. A few proposals have since been done in scaled down form but not at a level that would give proper improvements more just replacing like for like.

The good news from that piece is that of our export trade, the % going to EU increased

A customer we used to deal with in Ireland (it’s in the EU, that) is still buying product from the Netherlands and importing it - sometimes via UK roads, sometimes sailing around our coast - to Dublin.

Because it’s less hassle. Not all about price.

Makeuk don’t actually state where they get their data from exactly, but maybe I should give them a ring. Unless my data isn’t the data they’d like.
