A 2:1 in politics from York. Imagine you are really at the beginning of your career and you get this totally unwarranted honour. Its no wonder people feel disconnected from politics. Anyway, people of Alderley Edge, you have the baroness you deserve - hope it makes the private girl's school parents of the town proud to know that with money and means maybe your daughter can leap hard work and effort. It's what you are paying for after all. Quote
Winchester White Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 The rules weren't designed for people like Johnson, he has just proven the case for the abolishment of the the Lords, in its current form at least. We also need a written constitution and much stricter rules upon what MPs can and cannot do outside of Westminster. Quote

Its not strictly true that we don't have a written constitution, whilst we don't have a France or US document (normally written after great upheavel that after Magna Carta England never really and the UK has never has as its not really a country) We don't have a codified constitution, but we do have a constitution by our statutes which go back as far as the 1600s, and personally I'm comfortable with those. tomski Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 I find it odd what people get arsed about with stuff like this. He said let the bodies pile up during covid. No one seems arsed. He gives his mate/daughter/fuck person a gig into some shitty bum boy club and everyone is disgusted. Her getting a few quid for fuck all does not register with me at all. The con with the PPE and not doing his best to save lives does bother me. No wonder they think we are all simpletons Quote
