Whilst we’re back on the topic of net zero.

Where did you read your Wind Turbines Cause Deforestation article? You went a bit quiet after it was shown to be nonsense. Curious where it came from …

Didn’t go quiet at all

shown to be nonsense? In your opinion.

Other opinions exist, here are some;

He's certainly been the driving force behind the expansion of it

As I say, he's certainly pro it, but it's not 'his policy' and his alone.

That's the point that loads round here miss, and they just says it's his crusade.

Well, is it not?

He's persistent in ensuring the expansion comes to fruition despite the objection of the majority of residents in the areas in question and even the concerns of his own party leadership

There's no doubt the expansion is his doing, right or wrong

No, it's not just down to him. The leadership are questioning it because its framed as his singular policy. Its dead easy to find out about.

But of course, I'll defer to your knowledge of my local issues of course 😉

These aren't opinions mate. They are facts. All of your sources ignore the fact that the 15 million trees chopped down were Forestry. Meaning they were going to be felled and the wood was used for timber, paper, etc. etc.

They also interestingly ignore that in the same period 15 million were felled for Forestry - 200 million plus were planted.

I only asked for sources out of interest. One is a random sports and media commentator from the US. Another is a climate denial website that also claims the media is spreading the "heatwave" across Southern Europe and that it's all just CLiMaTe LiEs ! Thanks for showing they are nonsense and validating my opinion 👍😁

Here are some more facts from a climate scientist based in London about the fossil fuel driven crisis we're in.
Climate records tumble, leaving Earth in uncharted territory - scientists - BBC News - particularly worrying to hear that due to Atlantic ocean warming, marine species are now needing to consume 50% more food.

Sorry for the double post @globaldiver

But I had to share another quote from one of your "Turbines cause deforestation" sources.

Steer clear of the men and women stationed in retail pharmacies. They are military mercenaries camouflaged in scrubs and white coats, armed with vials and hypodermic syringes of poison. This is not medical advice. This is self-defense advice. ‘Vaccines’ are not medicines. They are camouflaged weapons of covert war.

Are you okay pal ? I think we've got a new candidate for the Wways tinfoil hat crown.

🤦‍♂️

I was only having a little laugh, no need to go all silly.

Basically as a member of my CLP and doorsteeping it something I've been talking about for a very long time now, having discussion about it again on here is not something I'm that fussed about.

It's basically a policy he is pro, but has to enact it, its really that simple. It's not just his singular aim or goal, to say otherwise is just Conservative spin.

It’s a bit like complaining that we kill a billion chickens every year then driving to KFC for a family bucket,

Or watching the world burn to a crisp then put every possible way to save it in the bin.

Lets just carry on then.

Ms Rayner told Sky News: "You have got to remember that this [ULEZ] is coming to every town and city across the UK."

The greater Manchester one has been fairly cheap thus far

Of course it is, I don't think you need a Labour politician to tell you about Tory policy?

I ain’t got problem with ulez if the public transport is efficient and cheap, sadly it’s far from that here in the NW.

Shhhh - that really leaves them stumbling.

Let's not get in the way of the 'we hate Khan' narrative.

Exactly this. GManc is not GLon and has nowhere near the transport infrastructure or their prices.

That is a point to be fair, TfL is fantastic, but more investment is needed in public transport outside London.

It's also a Labour policy to do so. 10 years on from Osbourne's Northern Powerhouse, what has actually happened?

So I live in zone 4, which is basically Bolton to Central Manchester levels of distance.

I can get a train from my local station every 10 minutes until 12.45am, and even then an uber cost 25 quid if I need it.

Buses are 24 hours, always come on time and there are bus lanes everywhere so they cut through traffic when it's busy.

I've always said older people shouldn't move out to the countryside, younger people should as they need better schools for their kids, and let older people back in town as they've have much better access to everything.

The lack of investment outside the south east isn't good.

Got a train from Bolton into Piccadilly 6 months ago, hadn't changed since I left 21 years ago.

Had to wait 20 mins, was rolling stock, really slow.

I'd be pissed off if I was back home, it's not good enough for major conurbations.
