Right. I've finally had to concede defeat, and have today resigned my position at work. People often ask on here if there has really been any effect due to Brexit. After sitting down a few months ago and working it out, I can say that as a result of us leaving the EU, I'm around £22K down over the last 3 years. This is as a result of customers in the EU deciding it's too difficult to deal with me, and moving their spend over to Europe, or customers closing down R&D facilities here in the UK to move to Europe, and finally, which is the icing on the cake, UK customs making it ridiculously difficult to bring certain products into the UK (I currently have around £80K of products stuck in at the docks, in a "paperwork" queue, they've been there for 2 weeks, and we still don't know when we'll get them)

As a result, within a few months, I'll be working for a company in The Netherlands, so hopefully things will become a lot easier, and hopefully I can get back to earning some proper money 🙂

As I'm responsible for EMEA and US, I'll still be living here for the most part, but will be spending maybe a 10 days a month or so over there, they're on the outskirts of Rotterdam. I've never been to Rotterdam at all, so am looking forward to it

Seriously though, all the best to you. What we let the Tories do with Brexit is the most ridiculous thing we have ever done.

I've known some fucking idiots in my time, but never anyone that daft.

I believe, according to the reports, that the £1.4bn (thats 1.4 BILLION Pounds of taxpayer money) of PPE being destroyed was bought from one the NHS normal PPE suppliers, and the majotity was upto standard, just never used.

I think this is more incompetance rather than corruption or cronyism.

The end result is the same, the intentions maybe somewhat different.

I think it's more the way that we've done it, it's been a fuck up. Even Farrdige concedes it's been handled terribly. Johnson should never have been allowed anywhere near the process.

Sorry to hear about work, that's rubbish hope it all works out for you.

Have to say, I'm not sure about how it's been handled though, it was always going to be a disaster and we were warned but we didn't listen.

Mixture of arrogance, blind faith, stupid contempt for how international business works - it was all to do with this country still struggling to come to terms with our past and how best to plot the future.

The good news is, from this the next generation has learnt, from the liberals who were too arrogant to listen to concerns outside their bubble to the right wingers whose ideas put into practice have now failed.
