Just reading average time from arrest to sentencing in 5-6 months for assault in the UK. For serious assaults it's 8-12 months.

So five months to charge is excessive then.

Where the fuck did I say that?

Joey Barton twatted that lad in Liverpool in Demeber and was sent down for it in May.

You're insinuating it. Every case is different. What's your theory as to why this one took 5 months?

To be fair it also says that 8-12 months is about right in more complex cases. Which I presume this would go down as?

I've no idea like 😁 I'm just quoting you what I'm reading!

And he was charged with assault the day after he did it.

I'm constantly amazed by the levels of hate around for Keir Starmer. I would have thought if anything people would be a bit indifferent as he comes across as a little bland. But it's proper, foaming at the mouth, red rag to a bull rage he induces 😁 I still haven't figured out anything he's done that's particularly rage inducing.

Boris got it for being a turnip, and not being wholesome with the truth.

Starmer is now getting it for hypocrisy and not being wholesome with the truth.

Blandness or exuberance shouldn't matter, but piss too many folk off and shit will follow.

It's quite obvious what both of them did/are doing to enrage people, but at the same time, the cesspit of social media etc yields abuse well over the top.

The shit levelled at politicians is ridiculous, and we've seen a couple murdererd and others attacked and threatened.

You’re talking sentencing. I’m talking charging. See the above post about Barton. My kid brother once  got arrested for affray and charged the day after.

Unless the legal system is in such shite state of affairs that once took one day now takes five months, this is far from normal.

That's where we differ I guess. I just don't see Starmer getting anywhere near BJ levels of bullshit at the moment or anytime soon! 😁

No I’m not.

I’m a bloke in my 50s on a message board full of blokes I don’t know.

If I wanted to say something I’d fucking say it. Why the fuck would I piss  about insinuating stuff?

Why do you think this took longer than it should have then? Say it.

Yeah - can't help with that one. You're right - I'm talking time to sentence.

Apologies if we're at cross purposes!

Strange how you never comment on other cases that take 5 months to charge. Why this one?

Strange you ignored the one I highlighted that took one day to charge. Why you pretending 5 months is normal?

I'm not pretending. As I said, every case is different, but there's nothing 'abnormal' about an Assault charge taking 5 months. Why are you so bothered about this one?

Yes, absolutely. Do you genuinely believe the Government intervened and told the CPS to slow the process down for some reason?

Any more straw and there'll be hayfever in the middle of winter.

Give me examples then.

I’ve given you an example of a high profile case that took one day.

You're shifting the goalposts now in order to avoid the question. By it's very nature, a specific example of an Assault charge that isn't "high profile" will be difficult to find. Enjoy your manufactured outrage over a perfectly normal process.

From CPS data

So you can’t find any then. That’s ok.

Anyroad, the CPS’s own data shows that the median time to charge is 44 days.

So it’s perfectly reasonable to suggest that taking 5 months especially with such clear CCTV evidence is in fact ‘ridiculous’

Don’t like facts do you?

You realise how ridiculous that statement is?

I love facts. I suspect you're referring to the average charge time for "All Crimes", which is why you didn't post the CPS link.

Please explain your theory as to why this particular case was slowed down, and for what reason.

Hang on. Are we talking about the same mickbrown here? 😁

I know he's not a Farage fan, but he's falling for the same shit they do.
