Full statement.

Away from on-field matters, talks are still on going with potential investors and I’m currently speaking with three separate parties who have expressed an interest in investing. This may or may not happen, but I can reassure you that any negotiations will not detract or hamper our determination to strengthen our squad ahead of the new campaign and indeed, funds are available for the manager.

There has been some speculation linking Phil with other jobs and I can completely understand why given the excellent and outstanding job he has done with us.What I will say is that Phil is under contract with Bolton Wanderers Football Club and he is the right man for the job in hand.We will not entertain any enquiries for him whatsoever and hopefully the size of any potential compensation package would be sufficient to dissuade any approaches.

Interesting he’s only looking for investors I think the Andersons been bitten by the BWFC bug.????

He’s always said investors. He wants to stay on and I for one would welcome that.

I agree he’s nobodies fool and with the right investment I’d fancy us making a good stab at getting promoted in the next few years.

whilst i agree its the right decison for Ken to stay on and i hope personally he does, i just hope that condition doesn't hamper discussions.

if a party is investing a substantial amount of money, normally they want a serious presence day to day. Just hoping that due to the investment coming from far reaching shores they see that Ken over seeing things day - day benefits them and they dont feel the need to send in a clueless Arabian Prince to run the show

Ken isn't going to let it. He's not going to be left with a loss making business costing him money simply because he'd have liked a role or a slice of the new setup.

well this is the thing isnt it, we're completely in the dark here about what his preference is..

If his involvement is a contentious point with the investors he wont want to be saddled with the club if it goes tits up. However his preference may be to stay on & guide the club in their week - week absence

just hope they all have the same idea for the future

As TMGJ said, hes referring to "investment" rather than buy out. We could be reading too much in to that or his stance on an outright sale may have softened

Eddie Davies did

Did he? He didn't not sell it because he wanted a role. He didn't sell it, because by all accounts by the time he seriously wanted to market the club, there was too much of a financial mess to easily unpick.

Ken has managed to stabilise it. ED came into the club to modestly invest in off field infrastructure. Then ended up bailing it out for a fair number of years. KA is not doing that. He wants to make some money, he's a businessman first and foremost.

He's a crafty cockney conman (you have to sing that in a roll out the barrel stylee)

This is my fear. After Ken’s conditions you then get eddies conditions.

I imagine it becomes tiresome. I for one don’t like making purchases off people that that change the goal posts regularly.

Let’s hope whoever it is, is filthy rich and doesn’t care.

I see merits in ken staying on as an employee rather than shareholder

Eddie is simply an agreed success payment that any future owner would have to honour. He put it in there to prevent some charlatan profiting off the club apparently.

It is just like any other debt when buying an organisation.

the debts or the repayment terms of them arent the issue for me, ED has shown on a number of occasions he is willing to delay and restructure.

Im just worried after all the trauma the club went through and now finally seeming to be getting back on an even keel a fresh buy out may flush it all away, the tests the EFL run on potential owners arent worth the paper theyre written on and the last thing we would need is a Venky's scenario.

Either KA to remain in a position long term or at least a transitional period where everyone gets to gauge how these investors are, their intentions and whether they can be trusted?

if all else fails the ST will get them towing the line no doubt

Ideal would be an investment that buys out a proportion of KA's shares but KA still runs it. The issue we have now is there is no way to move the club forward without investment and Ken has been upfront saying he doesn't have the funds to provide it. So we need that investment.

But stability of Ken running it, would be ideal. Ken knows what he's doing.

Maybe, but if someone offers enough and doesn't want Ken there, then so be it. Its a risk but one we have to take. Or flit between League one and bottom few of championship.

Did he?

if he's still paying the wages he is, as the club isn't making any money, and he was hanging around because he wants a piece of the PL pie if we get back there, and (something like) a training ground named after him, and apparently that was all part of the terms of sale, which is why it took ages and took us to the brink

something like that, pages and pages about it on here somewhere
