Sweep Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 Sunderland bought out Seen that. £40M apparently, I don't know if the new owners have some debt as well, of if that's all been wiped Quote
gonzo Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 Fuck me im embroiled with some goon on twatter now Quote
Guest Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 if he's still paying the wages he is, as the club isn't making any money, and he was hanging around because he wants a piece of the PL pie if we get back there, and (something like) a training ground named after him, and apparently that was all part of the terms of sale, which is why it took ages and took us to the brink something like that, pages and pages about it on here somewhere Is he bollocks paying the wages. That is just conspiracy bullshit. He sold up because he didn’t want to pay the wages anymore. Quote
Roger_Dubuis Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 Sunderland's new owner doesn't have enough money to pay the £40 million needed to buy the club, Ellis Short will be taking this money from future parachute payments if it can't be raised Given this, I would not be proclaiming the start of a great new era if i was a Sunderland supporter Quote

Rizlar Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 Sunderland have a lot of players still under contract on major wages. Quote
gonzo Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 Is he bollocks paying the wages. That is just conspiracy bullshit. He sold up because he didn’t want to pay the wages anymore. It’s not bollocks. He’s still heavily involved financially. Quote
Rizlar Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 Michael Gray on talksport said last week the wage bill will be 40 million in league 1 if they fail to move players on who are on premiership wages. Quote
Guest Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 It’s not bollocks. He’s still heavily involved financially. I’d be hugely surprised with what I know about ED’s situation. I’d be amazed in fact. I can believe he’s loaned Ken some money last season to cover wages that was paid back. But I don’t think he would be paying the wages on any sort of ongoing basis. I’m sure you’ve heard otherwise but we will never know for sure. I just know he stopped contributing to the club at all and had no intention of doing so irrespective of the position that left it in. Be weird if he was going back on that when his name is no longer above the door. Quote
DirtySanchez Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 They will struggle to shift Jack Rodwell on his supposedly 80k a week wages Quote

frank_spencer Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 He payed the players wages numerous times last season. As I say he’s still massively involved. Aye Ken has said a couple of times that ED has helped out financially a few times and that he's still offering advise if Ken needs it. Quote
Guest Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 Aye Ken has said a couple of times that ED has helped out financially a few times and that he's still offering advise if Ken needs it. Think he said he’s offered advice and has helped out by not calling in his debt when he could have....different to him still paying the bills. But you know....end of the day very few people will truly know where the money comes from. Lot of rumours. Quote

birch-chorley Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 Michael Gray on talksport said last week the wage bill will be 40 million in league 1 if they fail to move players on who are on premiership wages. I’d imagine they will turn over about £60m next season They are still getting full parachute payments for a start Even if they don’t manage to shift anyone on the £20m left over is head and shoulders above everyone else Absolute bankers Sunderland unless they hire Owen Coyle Quote
Guest Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 He paid the players wages numerous times. Maybe he did. Only a tiny number of people would know that for fact though. It certainly wouldn’t fit with ED refusing to pay for anything prior to selling. And he did refuse. As I say if you’re certain you’re certain. Quote
TrickyTrotter Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 Geordies wage bill for 16/17 Championship season £112m!
