Escobarp Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 Now we’ve stayed up it really is the best bit of business the club has or probably will ever do getting £6m for him. If we had gone down rightly it could have been questioned but not any longer. Bang average and we’ve had Cardiff’s trousers round their ankles for sure. Quote

If we had gone down rightly it could have been questioned but not any longer. Bang average and we’ve had Cardiff’s trousers round their ankles for sure. You're not wrong, the money we got for him is great To be fair, the money that we've got for our last 3 sales has been pretty decent Madine: £6M~£8M ......incredible, as he's nothing special Holding: £2M~£3M...... he's not moved on too much at Arsenal, but at the time, great money for a player that had been part of pretty much our worst defence ever Clough: £3M.....looking more and more like a result as each day goes by, I have a horrible feeling that he's just one of those players that's never going to really make it and live up to his hype Everytime each one of those players was sold, people thought it was the end of the world, and we still managed to survive and stay afloat. I dread to think where we would be had we not received all that transfer cash Quote
Casino Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 if we signed billy sharp this board would be creaming itself madine was easily the equal of sharp in his time with us last season Quote
Whites man Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 A couple of months before he was sold we were all worried that Madine was facing another prison sentence after some pub nonsense. He's not the sort of character you can rely on and for £6m we are well rid. Quote
Casino Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 aye, but we arent talking about rolling back the clock where he becomes our problem we have the 6 million and we have cardiffs cnut fwiw, i think we will have lukaku up front next season Quote
barrycowdrill Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 (edited) if we signed billy sharp this board would be creaming itself madine was easily the equal of sharp in his time with us last season Over the last 2 seasons Sharp 72 Games 39 Goals Madine 71 games 14 goals 8 of those Goals for Madine were scored in his purple patch of 15 games which got us the fee we'd be excited over Sharp down to the sheer fact he scored more than double in the same period. anyone would Thank Fcuk hes gone Edited May 24, 2018 by barrycowdrill Quote
Casino Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 which is why i said in his time with us last season anybody arguing we werent a better team with madine in it is in denial its generally the ones who wrote him off and refused to see how much we had improved him im hopeful we can get better this summer but to doubt his value to our team is bollocks Quote
barrycowdrill Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 which is why i said in his time with us last season anybody arguing we werent a better team with madine in it is in denial its generally the ones who wrote him off and refused to see how much we had improved him im hopeful we can get better this summer but to doubt his value to our team is bollocks His value to the team was more about how we play rather than him being anything close to prolific. Yes his involvement was then missed when he went as we didnt then adapt to him going playing wise. as i said earlier its time for this team to evolve. both from a personnel perspective and fingers crossed with a slightly more positive approach. Considering taking Madine back on any deal even if he became available would be a step back in my eyes. Ken was pretty clear it was GM's decision to leave so i would also hope it would be 'thanks but no thanks' if it was ever proposed Quote
radcliffe white Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 Madine was top quality business by the club But him hitting form was one of the main reasons we stayed up Quote
Lostock Whites Posted May 24, 2018 Author Posted May 24, 2018 What do our scouts actually do? Have any of them actually considered strikers from abroad, Doesn’t always have be a big Brexit striker, need to expand ourselves. Come on. Let’s get some flair in the team. Quote
Whites man Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 The scouts seem to do more than in Allardyce's day when it seemed we dealt with a single agent who offered players to us, Middlesboro and Portsmouth exclusively. Quote
Marc505 Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 Didn't our chief scout/agent/geezer bring Obasi in? Quote
