Ghana White
Trackside is good pub. Good pub at rawtenstall too. Top day on the piss on East lancs railway.. Not that you'll have much chance on the santa special.
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted December 14, 2017 Site Supporter Share Posted December 14, 2017 Only a madman would do 61, 60 & 66. 61, 65, A56 is the route. Agreed If he's going to do that route then wouldn't he be better off parking at the Rawtenstall end of the line? That also occurred to me. Makes sense. Easier parking etc.

Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted December 15, 2017 Site Supporter Share Posted December 15, 2017 It's a roundtrip Bury-'Stall-Bury That's a bit rough for some of your neighbours. Have to get the train to bury before starting and then another back again. A coconut dancers special going the other way for piss heads maybe. I heard the same - One of my work colleagues went on a trip to Ireland with them for St Patrick's Day t'other year.
Site Supporter superjohnmcginlay Posted December 15, 2017 Site Supporter Share Posted December 15, 2017 Massive fan of the ELR, we have resident passes and jump on whenever we can, the lad loves steam trains. Always like Bury Station at Xmas a tradition for us to go couple of days prior to Xmas for a few at Trackside and the lad does Santa Special. Clarence is good to eat at as is Automatic round the corner, think they are owned by same people.
Happy Wanderer
As always Cassie is the man to ask for all things Bury, being a local like.
gonzo
Managed to get on the car park next to station. £4 all day. Lovely little station etc. The Santa express could and should be miles better than it is. Still a nice little treat for the kids like. As for bury itself, shows what a bit of investment can do. The rock etc is superb for a small town like that. Pisses all over Bolton tc and Preston city centre and the likes. Had a beer at the station pub and some other gaff on a corner opposite. Nice day. gonzo
I did pass the turn off for heywood on the way out and think why the fuck it would be a good idea to park there and piss about with all that caper. Their website suggested it ffs. Like parking in Adlington and getting the bus to reebok.
