Wanderers 1-3 Preston

Gazing a little bit further down the line here, but what do you learned folk think the chances are of them re-arranging the home game against Preston on March 3?

Bearing in mind they've already moved Boro v Leeds to the Friday night and Wolves v Reading to Saturday evening so Sky/EFL have had a rummage through that weekend's fixtures already... but could our game still be moved for police advice, how late did they leave it in advance of the away game before moving it?

For me biggest game of season this. Win this and all those bottom teams will shit their pants as they’ll realise we’re staying up. Couldn’t be more proud of players and manager for sticking together a

Wasn’t they appealing for fans to help clear the surrounding areas

Think there may be one

Memory a bit vague but wasn't there an FA cup tie against Cardiff called off a few years ago after very heavy rain.

I think it was Boro at home we had called off over Xmas? Fat Sam accidentally on purpose forgetting to ask the groundsman to turn the undersoil heating on

Remember heavy snow just before we played Everton in the FA Cup and was surprised the game went ahead.

Aye deffo Cardiff and boro were both called off.

Cardiff because of rain and we had no team and boro frozen pitch and we had no team :)

Merely coincidental, though.

Stadium and pitch is pretty much the best you’ll get in the country.

But the problem is the areas surrounding the pitch and fans safety.

Temperature is going to struggle getting above 0 all week, and snowing pretty much every day.

Would be a shame, as I’m really looking forward to this.

With 4,000+ away fans paying top prices expected, Ken will make sure the club do as much as they physically can to get this game on.

A postponement would cost thousands in lost revenue.

If thats the best the beast from the East can do, theres fucking no chance this will get called off. Light snow forcast for Lostock Friday eveing is all.

PS, 2-1 to us

No chance of the game being called off it’s forecast to warm up Friday Saturday.

Well said that man.

The game will be on, no doubt.

Why do people panic at the first sign of a smattering of snow?

Iamout (mainly sunning myself in a 3rd world shit hole)

Credit our groundsmen for the pitch this season its superb. Shame we have'nt got a team to play a passing game on it and do it justice.

pre season game v preston abandoned due to lightning hitting the ground about 20 years ago iirc

pre season game v preston abandoned due to lightning hitting the ground about 20 years ago iirc

Is that what it was?

I thought it was just because it was bouncing down.

lightning hit the ground (as in the stadium) and caused a power surge- floodlights went out, they just thought fuck that

I was there, but I don’t remember any of that!

Good session?

They shut the m61 due to flooding so we went through Chorley and sank at the roundabout near McDonald's.

The Cardiff match was fa cup I think .I worked with a Cardiff fan who came up for the game it was called off late due to a waterlogged pitch.

We did have a lot of injuries at the time

Taffy rekoned we watered the pitch .

Good wind up material.

Hadnt they also just played enough minutes so as not have to give people their money back?

0-0

I reckon this will be our last Saturday 3pm home kick off this season.
