He was out cold for a few mins (mind you the amount of beer he swills, I aint surprised) There was a confrontation with a couple of young lads, I just carried on walking. The next thing I heard was some shouting I seen him on the floor & 3 of ours chasing these 2 lads down the road. I was told afterwards, that he was side swiped & fell like a fallen tree. Was still out when I got back, a couple o minutes later we managed to get him up & sat on a wall. I didn't realise the piss until we walked off. ya win some ya lose some.

Of course they do. It is a fine line, but from what I've seen of him he is against extremism and unethical aspects of Islam. And campaigns on free speech etc.

That's where folk go wrong which in turn just adds fuel to his fire.

To be fair his perception and experience of intolerance and inequality has come from seeing Islam have a much broader crack of the whip in this country over the last two decades or so than other racial/religious groups.  The permission to protest/not to protest in Luton being an example

 

No surprise he focuses on them as that's where the problems he's addressing lie.

 

This has more recently become a free speech issue.  

 

Granted, he makes the most out of it but isn't that what all 'journalists' do?

 

My like of TR is about the principal, not the context so much.  Did you read about some of the discrimination (which is what it was) against non-Muslim groups in Luton and across the country?  I didn't, yet these kind of inequalities should not be tolerated.  TR has done well to highlight this imo.

 

If it actually became more mainstream you may find it stops folk veering more to the far right as a counter.

I feel 100% confident that if you can point out orientals, Jews, West Indians, Sikhs, Hindu's or even Anglo Saxons (tee-hee) stabbing, running over with vehicles, bombing, shooting or committing multiple murders in any way, shape or form, TR would condemn them equally.

There's an excellent debate on line from a few months back including Stephen Fry, Jordan Peterson and Michael Dyson all about free speech and political correctness.

 

What's telling is that at the end 6% of the audience change from the pro (for PC) to the con camp and Dyson (who's pro) basically racially slurs JP (calling him an angry white man) and makes no sense whatsoever.  the crowd even end up booing him.

 

Just shows that when a lot of the 'lefty' arguments come under scrutiny they flounder and, surprise surprise, folk then turn to insults.  I will say that there must have been better representatives of the left though.
