I agree. And that's what happens when you give tacit approval to violent racists for the best part of ten years instead of calling them out for what they are.

If they organise and politicise then it could get very nasty indeed. They've already got the dehumanisation of an entire subsection of society mastered.

Throw in a bit of economic turmoil post Brexit and bob's your facist uncle!

Amazingly inept deductions. Still, you are unable to see the truth through red tinted glasses so we must make allowances.

It is the unfettered extremes of those you sympathise with which have lit the fuse. Been allowed to go too far and every action will see an equal and opposite reaction.

You reap what you sow.

Any there with a poppy on their jacket and a swastika tattoo like the EDL march in Bolton a while ago

... and it would be just as easy to point to the hammer and sickle on a Socialist Worker activist.

Pointless highlighting of the odd lone oddball who has nutjob views has no place in this discussion. It is merely an attempt to label all who care as Nazi's which is frankly, a load of fucking bollocks.

Aye.

Not saying it's Kent's fault mind, but folk don't seem, or don't want, to put two and two together.

Hitler rose to prominence (or was allowed to, nay, even encouraged to - by our own elite as well don't forget) as a counter to the threat of communism.

Rightly or wrongly they gained power as a counter to left wing 'extremism'.

I guess history shows we just don't learn as a species and always prioitise the short rather than long term consequences of our actions; or getting one over a rival . . .

This is why freedom of speech is so important

It was more an example of the lunatics that attend this kind of protest.

There's plenty of knobheads on the lefty side too.

Way, way too simplistic.

Freedom of speech also alwows for people to to say that what you are saying makes you a prized cunt.

TR wasn't arrested for reporting on Muslim grooming gangs, he was arrested for reporting on a court case that the press had been instructed not to something he'd been in bother for in the past.

In short, you only have yourselves to blame.

I expected that's what you'd come out with. As usual - you're completely removed from taking any sort of responsibility for your actions.

Even after the inevitably of ten years of the actions of you and your ilk begins to take affect - you're still laying the blame squarely at the feet of others.

Always the victims - it's never your fault (to coin a phrase)

It's fucking slacktivism at the end of the day and nothing to overly worry about...

A good proportion of those present spend every other weekend travelling in numbers, getting pissed, assembling and ballooning - so they do it another few weekends a year, big deal.

Can you imagine the difference they might make if instead they were to give up time, money and resources to help lift and support the type of kids who easily fall prey to drugs, booze, grooming, crime etc.*? That would take serious work and effort though, pitching up to London to get pissed and listen to some numpty shouting for the Koran to be changed - not much (work).

* I accept, misguided as they are politically, some probably are involved in stuff like this already.

Exactly.

That's why all and every view should be allowed air time.

Easy to cut the wheat form the chaff then

Like your response?

It's a simple overview but pretty much what happened.

As Bolty says, cause and effect - push hard one way it pushes back just as hard the other. It's all around right now ffs!

I'm just glad you can see it

Cos untold millions of us don't have your insight, obvs

Freedom of speech is fine.

As long as you’re saying the right things.

See I think you should be able to say anything bar inciting criminality.

I'd even encourage folk to say the most mental or unpalatable things publicly - that way most rational folk can see what the loons really think and act democratically to prevent said loons taking over the asylum.

You go down a suppression route and it never ends well, ever - despite best intentions

Extremes? Your distorted view of the world doesn't let you see extremes.

Being decent and treating folk equally isn't an extreme.

People who think political correctness is a bad thing...,they are extremists. Political correctness = common decency.

It's too sunny to argue the toss with you. Also pointless. You have your view of the world. You're welcome to it.

Common decency, good manners or whatever is nothing remotely to do with being pc.

If folk can't see the issues with PC 'ness' then they're just a bit stubborn/simple in my view.

When someone like the dangerously far right megalomaniac Stephen Fry is saying it's all rather concerning and gone too far that tells you all you need to know.

Yeah. The real problem the world has at the moment is folk being too nice to each other

That's exactly what being PC is.

Being too far in either direction is where it goes wrong.

Very similar to elf and safety, taking steps to ensure that people are safe is good, banning conkers at a school is too far.

Hounding someone for using an outdated term such as coloured/half caste is ridiculous saying that politicians shouldn't refer to Africa as bongo bongo land is just sensible

It’s got everything to do with it. It’s about not using language that others might find offensive. That’s the whole point.

I get people don’t like rules or suggestions. But ultimately it is about not upsetting other folk.
