Probably something along the lines of strike the reich. In fact one of them had made a tenuous link about how Beckenbauer had been flying around Italy during the tournament scouting, so a tabloid superimposed his head onto the pilot of a WW1 biplane with a headline along the lines of Down The Red Baron or some shit. Euro 96 was worse, Gazza and Pearce wearing tin hats with “Achtung!” Underneath. Garbage.
